Composition, form, packaging of the medicine

Acipol Malysh drops are a viscous, oily suspension in which small particles are allowed to be present. The composition of the drug is based on acidophilic lactobacilli in dried form:

  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 53103;
  • Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7894.

Refined sunflower oil acts as a filler. The composition also includes anti-caking agent silicon dioxide (E 551), antioxidant DL-alpha tocopheryl acetate. Acipol Baby does not contain lactose, so it can be used to normalize the intestinal microflora in children with lactase deficiency.

The medicine is placed in a dark glass bottle with a volume of 4.5 ml. The built-in special dropper is designed for precise dosing, which is important when treating children. The bottle is placed in a package with a bright pattern.

The pharmaceutical product is produced by the company Syncropharm S.L. from Spain.

Compound

The main active component of the probiotic Acipol is live lactobacilli. These bacteria were grown in a nutrient medium, after which they were dried in a special way. They remained alive and went into an inactive state. If you add water or milk to them, then after 4-5 hours they will become active again. This means that the lactobacilli of the drug are live, so they are able to colonize the intestines.

Operating principle

Lactobacilli in the composition of acipol are a component of the human intestinal microflora. After consuming the drug, the bacteria successfully pass through the digestive tract, since they are resistant to the unfavorable factors they encounter along the way. Once in the intestines, bacteria colonize it, which creates unfavorable conditions for the growth of pathogenic flora and reduces the number of pathogenic bacteria. Thus, the intestinal microflora is normalized.

The drug helps restore normal intestinal microflora.

Medicinal properties

Normalization of intestinal microflora and restoration of the gastrointestinal tract occurs due to the following active components:

  1. Lactobacilli – Lactobacillus rhamnosus. Rhamnosus is a type of probiotic bacteria found in the intestines. They produce the enzyme lactase. This enzyme breaks down the sugar lactose, which is found in dairy products, into lactic acid. It can prevent and treat diarrhea and reduce signs of irritable bowel disease. In addition, the bacterium has an immunomodulatory effect and helps prevent the development of caries in children.
  2. Bifidobacteria – Bifidobacterium longum. longum is one of the beneficial bacteria in our digestive system and is therefore often used as a probiotic. It suppresses the growth of pathogenic bacteria, reduces the incidence of constipation and prevents the development of diarrhea in children. Reduces the inflammatory process in the intestines, normalizes cholesterol levels, and reduces the incidence of certain types of allergic manifestations in children.

The combination of such beneficial bacteria in the composition gives Acipol Malysh drops a soft and safe effect. Dysbacteriosis in infants stops quickly and effectively.

Indications (why prescribed to children)

Acipol is often prescribed to newborns because their intestinal microflora is not yet fully formed, which can cause colic. Also, taking a probiotic helps the baby develop immunity.

Older children are more susceptible to intestinal infections, allergic manifestations and often get sick, which is accompanied by taking antibiotics. Probiotics help them reverse the effects of these diseases.

This drug is prescribed for dysbacteriosis, taking antibiotics, allergies, dermatitis.

Accordingly, the main indications for taking Acipol for children and adults are:

  • dysbacteriosis and acute intestinal infections;
  • chronic colitis, enterocolitis;
  • long-term antibacterial therapy;
  • atopic dermatitis and other manifestations of allergies;
  • decrease in the body's defenses.

Composition and mechanism of action

The drug is rich in bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. The capsules contain strains of live lactobacilli acidophilus and kefir fungi. These components are components of normal intestinal microflora.

Acipol is effective for constipation in children, as well as other disorders of the digestive system. It has antimicrobial, probiotic and immunomodulatory effects.

The drug restores normal intestinal microflora and suppresses the growth of pathogenic ones, reduces the likelihood of dysbiosis, and relieves unpleasant symptoms that occur during antibacterial therapy (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, heartburn). Unpleasant symptoms disappear within 2-3 days.

Acipol for newborns normalizes digestion, peristalsis and intestinal motility, makes stool regular, eliminates colic and increased gas formation. While taking a probiotic, there is no need to take carminative medications.

Acipol can be used for vomiting in a child, as it removes toxins and heavy metal salts.

Acipol improves the synthesis of B vitamins, as well as the absorption of nutrients, thereby promoting strong immunity for the baby.

Instructions for use and dosage

Acipol Baby is suitable for children from birth. Before use, shake the bottle and, using the dosing dropper included in the kit, add 5 drops to the milk (not higher than 37°C!). It is recommended to take the probiotic with food once a day for two weeks.

The drug can be diluted with water or milk.

Acipol Active is suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age if the dosage is followed correctly. Namely, one bottle once a day with meals for a month. Before use, you must mix the filler in the bottle with the active substances in the cap. To do this, you need to press the dispenser cap and wait until the contents of the cap fall into the bottle. Then shake vigorously, open the lid and drink the resulting liquid. The prepared suspension can only be mixed with liquids at room temperature (water, juice, milk, etc.). The suspension must be drunk immediately after preparation, as it will lose its properties with further storage.

And here are the instructions for use of Acipol active.

Acipol in capsule form is suitable for children from three months. Up to three years of age, it is recommended to take one capsule 2-3 times a day with meals. The capsule must be opened and its contents dissolved in boiled water or milk. Adults and children over three years old are recommended to take 1 capsule 3-4 times a day, half an hour before meals, with a capsule of boiled water. For prevention, the drug is prescribed one capsule once a day for two weeks.

Ideally, capsules should simply be taken with water.

Repeated use of Atsipol should be carried out no earlier than a month after the end of the previous course of treatment.

Additional Information

From pharmacies, Atsipol Malysh is available without a prescription. The storage temperature of an unopened and opened bottle should not exceed 25°C. The medication must be protected from exposure to direct sunlight and children. After opening, the medicinal suspension is suitable for use within 3 weeks. The shelf life of a sealed bottle is 2 years.

The price of Acipol Baby in different pharmacies may vary. The cost of dietary supplements in pharmacy chains in Moscow and the Moscow region is at the level of 400-500 rubles.

Overdose

There are currently no data on cases of Acipol overdose, but theoretically this is possible. With a significant overdose of this drug, the following unpleasant conditions may appear:

  • bloating;
  • rumbling in the stomach;
  • stool disorder;
  • nausea.

The drug has no serious side effects.

Interaction with other drugs

No significant drug interactions were observed when Acipol was used together with other drugs. This means that it can be used simultaneously with other medications.

Important! Acipol is recommended to be taken in parallel with antibiotics, as this prevents the occurrence of dysbacteriosis. In this case, you need to drink Acipol two hours after taking the antibiotic, not earlier! After completing the course of antibiotics, it is enough to take Acipol for another week.

How long does the treatment last?

The standard duration of the treatment course for children is 5-8 days. According to indications, the duration of treatment can be increased to 10-15 days. This is usually necessary for long-term use of antibiotics, purulent blood lesions, significant retardation in weight and height, and low body resistance to infectious diseases.

Prophylactic administration of capsules should not exceed 15 days. If re-use is necessary, an interval of at least 30 days should be maintained.

Reviews

Elena:

The whole family took Acipol Active and Acipol Malysh, but at first I didn’t know whether children could add it not only to milk or water. I tormented the children because it doesn’t taste very good with water. Then I consulted with a friend, she suggested adding it to purees, cottage cheese, and yogurt. Now the little one eats without any problems. It's better this way than nothing.

Maria:

I gave the child Simbiter with an antibiotic, but the little one flatly refused to eat it. And now I take Acipol or Lactiale from the pharmacy, calculating day by day how much antibiotic will be available. That's all. I don’t bother with Biogaia for a lot of money... One result.

Anastasia:

The child refused to take Acipol with milk and water, immediately gag reflex. The doctor said to give it a little at a time throughout the day, and even if he vomits, at least something will get through. But mine never got used to it. That’s why I make homemade yogurt from the powder in capsules. The same technology as with regular sourdough. The little one is cracking with a bang now!

Sofia:

We have been treating constipation for six months. The tests are also normal, but my daughter has weak muscles - this can also partially cause constipation. I also liked Forlax because it softens stool. I gave it without a laxative and it had an effect, but it cannot be given on an ongoing basis. The last time the doctor prescribed me to take Acipol for 14 days. A week ago it all ended, while the effect lasts, but I started giving the child a teaspoon of flaxseed oil on an empty stomach, it weakens.

Olga:

I was given Acipol right from birth. Our pediatrician told me to take me straight to the maternity hospital, due to the fact that it was a planned cesarean section, general anesthesia, plus I had to take an antibiotic before giving birth. In general, I gave it immediately to prevent various dysbiosis. I gave Enterol to the child from the age of 2 months. And now I always take it in my travel first aid kit. I have been giving Laktiale since I was a year old. She diluted it with water and fed the child from a syringe.
