Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumonia (Klebsifag) is an immunobiological preparation. It has the ability to specifically lyse Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria. Intended for the treatment of purulent-septic and enteral diseases caused by the bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia: surgical infections, diseases of the urogenital area, gastrointestinal tract, purulent-inflammatory diseases of the ear, throat, nose, respiratory tract and lungs, generalized septic diseases, purulent-septic diseases newborns.

Indications for use

Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumonia (Klebsifag) is intended for the treatment of purulent-septic and enteral diseases caused by the bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia: - surgical infections (suppuration, wounds, peritonitis, pleurisy, burns, mastitis, abscess, phlegmon, osteomyelitis, etc.); - diseases of the urogenital area (cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, colpitis, endometritis, sallingoophoritis, etc.); — diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastroeterocolitis, cholecystitis, intestinal dysbiosis); - purulent-inflammatory diseases of the ear, throat, nose, respiratory tract and lungs (inflammation of the sinuses, middle ear, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy); - generalized septic diseases; — purulent-septic diseases of newborns: neonatal sepsis, omphalitis, pyoderma, pemphigus, gastroenterocolitis. The bacteriophage of Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsifag) is also used for selective decontamination of the intestine when contaminated with nosocomial strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Mode of application

The dose of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsiphage), route of administration and duration of use is determined by the attending physician depending on the disease.
The use of the drug does not exclude the use of other antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs. In the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract and lungs, the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used in the form of aerosols, and the oral route of administration is also used. In the treatment of other diseases, the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used topically in the form of irrigations, lotions, and also for injection into the cavities of wounds, abscesses, abdominal, pleural, bladder, uterus, sinuses, middle ear. The Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used orally and in the form of high enemas in the treatment of gastroenterocolitis, cholecystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, mastitis, and generalized septic diseases. The therapeutic dose of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsiphage) is 0.3-3 ml per 1 kg of body weight (10-200 ml). The drug is used 1-3 times a day for 7-20 days. It is possible to lengthen the course of treatment (up to 40 days according to clinical indications) and repeat courses. For abscesses, after opening and removing the purulent contents, the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is administered in an amount less than the volume of the removed pus. For osteomyelitis, the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is injected into the wound cavity through turundas and drainages in an amount of 25-50 ml. For peritonitis and pleurisy, the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is administered through the drainage into the cavity in 20-200 ml. drug once daily. For cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is administered through a catheter in an amount of 20-30 ml once daily, and is also taken orally in a dose of 20 ml. 3 times a day. For purulent-inflammatory gynecological diseases, 5-10 ml is administered once daily into the cavity of the vagina or uterus. In the treatment of suppurations and wounds, the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used in the form of irrigation, applications, dressings, and administration through drainage. For purulent-inflammatory diseases of the ear, throat and nose, the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is administered into the cavity of the middle ear, nose, and sinuses in a dose of 2-10 ml 1-3 times a day. For Klebsiella enterocolitis, as well as in the treatment of dysbiosis, the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used orally in a dose of 5-20 ml 3 times a day for 10-15 days. It is possible to combine twice oral administration with a single administration of the drug in the form of a high enema. Use of Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) in children under 6 months with sepsis and enterocolitis in newborns, including premature infants: the bacteriophage is used in the form of high enemas in a dose of 3-5 ml 2-3 times a day. In the absence of vomiting and regurgitation, oral administration of the drug is possible. In this case, it is mixed with breast milk. A combination of rectal and oral administration of the drug is possible: rectally in the morning and evening, orally in the afternoon. The course of treatment is 5-15 days. In the treatment of omphalitis, pyoderma, infected wounds, the Klebsiella pneumonia bacteriophage (Klebsifag) is used in the form of applications, daily, twice.

special instructions

The opening of bottles and ampoules and the procedure for administering the drug are carried out in strict compliance with antiseptic rules. If the integrity of the packaging and labeling is damaged or the drug becomes cloudy, do not use it. Storage of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteriophage (Klebsiphage) after opening the bottle or ampoule is not allowed.
