Instructions for use of Lactovit
Release form and composition
Capsule No. 30. — Lactobacilli about 12 million spores. Folic acid 1.5 mg. and 15 mcg of cyanomococoline. Auxiliary components:
- colloidal silicon dioxide;
- lactosin;
- purified talc.
It can also be produced in the form of a suspension for oral administration in 4 gram sachets. No. 10.
Pharmacological properties
Lactovit is a probiotic - a product that restores natural microflora. Its main component is spores of bacteria of the following species: Bacillus coagulans and Lactobacillus sporogenes.
These microorganisms inhabit the gastrointestinal tract and prevent its colonization by pathogenic microbes, producing substances that are harmful to pathogenic microflora but harmless to the host, in particular lactic acid.
While defending themselves from competitors, they also protect their habitat. And the benefits they bring to the human body are not limited to this. The bacteria also help maintain a healthy immune system by activating white blood cell activity.
Thus, the main effect of Lactovit is the colonization of internal organs with beneficial microorganisms. In addition, the preparation contains vitamins: important for hematopoiesis, liver and nervous system function, metabolism and healthy cell division, cyanocobalamin and folic acid, known as a substance necessary for the normal development of the embryo in the early stages, as well as for DNA replication.
Indications for use
The drug is prescribed to patients of all ages, from the first months of life to old age.
- Diseases of the digestive system. It is applicable for all types of dysbiosis (when the composition of the microflora in the intestines is disrupted), which is often caused by taking antibiotics, for acute infections during exacerbations, and can also be prescribed to those who have already been ill and need recovery. Lactovit is used to treat colitis, both acute and chronic.

Mode of application
The dosage of the drug depends on age. Regardless of age, Lactovit should be taken 40 minutes before meals, twice a day. If the child is not yet two years old, then you need to give 1 capsule, from 2 to 14 years old, 2 capsules, and over 14 - like adults, 2-4 capsules per day.
Therapy should be continued for two to three weeks for dysbacteriosis. For ulcerative colitis, the course lasts from a month to two, and for recovery after acute intestinal infections - 4-6 weeks.
To normalize the microflora, the dose is halved and taken for about two months. After examining the microflora, if a possible relapse is detected, a second course of treatment is possible.
In gynecological practices, the usual dose is used. Before giving birth, Lactovit is prescribed 2 capsules once a day, taking it for a week.
Overdose
No cases of overdose were recorded.
Interaction with other drugs
Possible reduction in the effect of phenytain, PAS, oral contraceptives. The bacteria contained in Lactovit are quite resistant to antibiotics.

This drug is not recommended for use by people with hypersensitivity to lactose and other components.
Since the drug contains live bacteria that require a special environment, you should not eat or drink anything hot immediately after taking it or drink the medicine itself.

Interaction with other drugs
The absorption of folic acid is reduced when taking the vitamin with analgesic and anticonvulsant components, antibiotics, sulfonamide drugs, and antacid contents. Vitamin B12 is able to accelerate the metabolic processes of phenytoin.
Patients suffering from folate deficiency may be susceptible to epileptic seizures when taking folic acid. This is caused by a decrease in the levels of phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone in the blood plasma.
The use of contraceptives, ethanol-containing substances, Cycloserine, Glutethimide, Methotrexate can reduce the effect of folate on the body.
It is not recommended to combine a probiotic with mineral acids and antioxidants. If it is necessary to use cholestyramine components, it is better to take Lactovit at intervals of 1 hour or 4 hours after their use.
Poor absorption of cyanocobalamin is observed with the simultaneous use of aminoglycosides, salicylates, antiepileptic drugs, colchicine, and potassium-containing components. Also, do not use the drug with tetracyclines, polymyxins, neomycin and kanamycin.
Allergic reactions have been observed when the probiotic is used together with thiamine. Birth control pills also reduce the concentration of vitamin B9 in the blood plasma.
