What it looks like and where it grows

The perennial belongs to the Rosaceae family, the Dicotyledonous class and the species of the Cinquefoil genus. The height of the plant reaches 50 cm. Cinquefoil has a long spindle-shaped root that resembles a powerful tuber. The rosette is formed by a bunch of leaves. In spring, a stem emerges from it, which is flowering. Growth

The plant's habitat is considered to be European territory, or rather most of it. It mainly grows in oak and pine forests, meadows, grassy slopes, copses and forest edges; at the same time, it is suitable for soils that are completely different in their composition - dry, wet, sandy, clayey, etc. But despite the unpretentiousness of the plant, at the moment it is almost impossible to find it in natural conditions. The development of forestry and agriculture led to a sharp decline in this species.

At the moment, the plant is classified as a rare plant. At the same time, since it is endowed with unique healing properties, people are not going to forget about it. Therefore, now they are trying to artificially breed her.

Reviews

White cinquefoil is an excellent plant for women's health

White cinquefoil - reviews of those who were treated with herbs:

Christina: In February, during an ultrasound of my abdominal cavity, they found a cyst on my ovary. They said there is a possibility that it is functional. A medical friend advised me to drink cinquefoil tincture. I drank it for about a month. In May, a new ultrasound - there is no cyst, as there was no cyst. The doctor said that it was the cinquefoil tincture that could help.

Valeria: After the second birth, the thyroid gland “flyed”. I became twitchy, tearful, my hands were shaking, my heart was pounding. I didn’t go to the doctor right away, but when I got there, they almost immediately sent me for an ultrasound. I was treated for about a year. I took pharmaceutical cinquefoil for 2 months with a break. Complex treatment has borne fruit. However, I had to change doctors. And the doctor who canceled half the list of medications, reviewed not only the prescriptions, but also my diet, etc., and in 3 months he achieved a lasting result.

Vera: I treated endometriosis with cinquefoil. Let me tell you, it definitely helped. True, mine was not strong, but nevertheless. She treated for a long time, several months at intervals.

Chemical composition

The underground part of the plant - the root and rhizomes - is mainly used as medicinal raw materials, but leaves, seeds and flowers are also used in alternative medicine. All three types of herbs contain the following biologically active components: glycosides, carbohydrates, organic acids, tannins, essential oils, resins, flavonoids, bitterness, wax, trace elements - manganese, copper, zinc, selenium. Saponins, elemental iodine and iodide anions are also found in the white cinquefoil, a large amount of vitamin C is found in the rhizomes of galangal, and a high concentration of starch and protein is found in the cinquefoil.

Features of treatment during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the body adapts to supply the fetus with the necessary substances. What the mother receives, the child subsequently receives, so herbal decoctions can lead to complications. Their effect on intrauterine development is poorly studied.

Breastfeeding depends on the mother; the taste and composition of milk is influenced by her diet. The use of cinquefoil while breastfeeding may cause the baby to refuse milk or cause problems with his intestines and affect the development of the nervous system due to its sedative effect.

Contraindications

  • High blood clotting;
  • Reduced acidity of gastric juice;
  • Atonic constipation;
  • Hypertension in the stage of decompensation;
