Instructions
Compound
Triovit is a combined vitamin preparation that includes 2 vitamins, 1 provitamin and 1 mineral. Active ingredients of 1 Triovit capsule:
- Betatab 20% – 50 mg (corresponds to 10 mg beta-carotene)
- Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 100 mg
- Alpha tocopherol acetate 50% - 80 mg (corresponds to 40 mg vitamin E)
- Yeast complex with selenium 2000 - 25 mg (corresponds to 50.0 mcg selenium)
According to the instructions for the drug, the capsules contain the following excipients: talc, colloidal anhydrous silicon oxide, magnesium stearate.
Pharmacological properties
- Vitamin E and b-carotene protect membrane lipids from oxidation by free radicals formed in the cell, neutralize free radicals by blocking their unpaired electron. Vitamin E acts as an antiatherogenic agent, prevents the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins, and reduces the risk of the formation of cholesterol plaques in blood vessels.
- Water-soluble ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the bioregeneration of a-tocopherol, protecting it from destruction.
- The antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which includes selenium, neutralizes the most toxic products of free radical oxidation - lipoperoxides, which prevents the formation of toxic aldehydes and new free radicals. Free radicals have a negative impact on health when they are produced in excess in the body. The body's own defense systems can no longer maintain the balance of free radicals, which leads to cell damage.
Antioxidant vitamins are active at the cellular level; they complement each other’s activity, so the combination of vitamins (A, E, C) and selenium is rational. The protective properties of antioxidants are manifested in increasing the body's resistance to adverse environmental factors, enhancing the body's protective properties, anti-inflammatory effects, and helping to slow down the aging process of the body.
Considering the protective properties of Triovit, its use will be useful not only for women, but also for men and children.
Indications for use
According to the instructions, Triovit capsules are recommended for use in adults and children over 15 years of age (by decision of the attending physician, children over 10 years of age can also be taken):
- with a deficiency of antioxidant vitamins and selenium
- with malnutrition and an unbalanced diet
- when working in hazardous working conditions
- when living in regions with unfavorable environmental conditions, in particular in large cities
- for nicotine addiction
- when exposed to active solar radiation (summer tanning)
- during intense physical and mental stress
- during the acute period of infectious and inflammatory diseases and during the recovery period
- chemotherapy
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients contained in the drug
- Hypervitaminosis A and E
- Children's age up to 10 years
Directions for use and doses
Triovit is not recommended for children under 15 years of age. Children over 10 years of age can take one capsule per day under medical supervision. Adults (men and women) and children over 15 years of age should take 1 - 2 capsules per day. Capsules should be taken orally, after meals, with a small amount of water. The course of treatment is 2 months.
The daily dosage, frequency of administration and duration of the course of vitamin therapy are decided by the attending physician. Unless otherwise indicated, it is recommended to follow Triovit's instructions.
Side effects
In rare cases, allergic reactions to individual components of the drug are possible. With long-term use of the drug, b-carotene contained in capsules can cause yellowing of the skin and discoloration of urine; these phenomena are safe, do not require discontinuation of the drug and disappear after stopping use. Triovit should be taken after meals, otherwise a feeling of heaviness in the stomach or flatulence may occur. Azo dyes E122 and E123, which are part of the capsule shell, can cause allergic reactions including bronchospasm. More often, allergic reactions occur in individuals with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid. There are known cases of urticaria caused by parahydroxybenzoates. They usually cause a delayed type of reaction, such as contact dermatitis. In rare cases, they cause immediate reactions with urticaria and bronchospasm.
If you detect any symptoms of side effects (indicated in the instructions for use), you must temporarily stop further use of Triovit and inform your doctor.
Overdose
Taking high doses (more than 15 capsules per day) may cause nausea, vomiting, and yellow skin and nails. In these cases, you should stop taking the drug and consult your doctor. Treatment: symptomatic + plenty of fluids
Drug interactions
When taking other vitamin, vitamin and mineral preparations at the same time, you should consult your doctor - there is a risk of hypervitaminosis.
special instructions
The drug does not contain sugar, so patients with diabetes can take Triovit without adjusting insulin. After long-term use of β-carotene, yellow discoloration of the skin is possible, which is harmless and disappears after discontinuation of the drug.
Indications for use of Triovit
Indications for use of Triovit are as follows:
- deficiency of vitamins and selenium;
- poor nutrition or insufficient intake of vitamins;
- work in hazardous conditions;
- unfavorable environment;
- nicotine addiction;
- vitamins for mastopathy ;
- constant stress on the body;
- constant or long-term work at a computer or other devices that expose a person to radiation.
Side effects
Side effects on the body are detected extremely rarely . The most common are skin reactions in the form of allergic rashes, which disappear with the abolition of Triovit.
A long course of Triovit can cause the appearance of a yellow color of the skin and a sharp change in the color of urine. This side result is not dangerous, does not pose a health risk, and therefore does not require cancellation of the complex.
It will disappear immediately after completely stopping taking the multivitamin complex, so it is not an obstacle to calmly completing the course.
Simultaneous administration of large doses of Triovit can lead to an overdose.
Its main consequences may be nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, and diarrhea. In order to get rid of these symptoms, it is necessary to neutralize the excessive effect of the drug and be sure to consult a doctor.
Accordingly, taking Triovit will have to be temporarily stopped. If the symptoms do not disappear on their own, it is advisable to perform gastric lavage.

Pharmacological properties of the drug Triovit
Complex vitamin preparation. Vitamins C, E and betacarotene are active antioxidants, and selenium is part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Antioxidant vitamins and selenium mutually potentiate each other's effects. They protect cellular structures from the damaging effects of free radicals, improve the functioning of the immune system and the body’s overall resistance, and reduce the likelihood of developing cancer, cardiovascular diseases and age-related cataracts. Triovit increases the immune status and nonspecific resistance of the body, reduces the likelihood of developing cancer, cardiovascular diseases and cataracts. Betacarotene is a provitamin of vitamin A (retinol). As a natural antioxidant, it protects the cell membrane from damage by free radicals. During the chain reaction, in addition to other free radicals, chemically highly reactive singlet oxygen is also formed, which is converted into a more stable triplet form with the help of beta-carotene. Vitamin E (tocopherol) in a lipophilic environment acts as a biological antioxidant, protects lipids and other substances (enzymes, DNA) of membranes and other cellular structures from oxidation by free radicals in the cell. With the participation of tocopherol, a more stable and less active tocopheryl radical is formed, which, in the presence of ascorbic acid and enzymes, is again reduced to the original tocopherol. Vitamin E has an antiatherogenic effect, preventing the formation of primary damage and oxidation of LDL. Thanks to this, vitamin E prevents the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in a hydrophilic environment acts as a biological antioxidant. It reacts with free radicals, resulting in the formation of a more stable ascorbic acid radical, which is then converted back into ascorbic or dihydroascorbic acid through various reactions involving glutathione peroxidase. Vitamin C combined with vitamin E prevents the formation of toxic nitrosamines from N-nitrosic compounds found in food products. Selenium - the oligoelement selenium is a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which removes peroxides and free radicals from the cell. The pharmacokinetics of the drug have not been studied.
