Chemomycin, 1 piece, 10 g, 200 mg/5 ml, powder for oral suspension

If a child gets sick, one of the foundations for successful treatment is the timeliness of actions taken. The sooner parents seek medical help, the easier it is to overcome the disease. If there is evidence for this, specialists prescribe antibiotics to their young patients. Such drugs have a beneficial effect on the dynamics of treatment, but some people still distrust them.

New generation antibiotics, including Hemomycin (suspension for children), are not capable of causing severe harm to beneficial microflora. After competent, adequate treatment, the baby feels much better and his body’s resistance to disease increases noticeably.

Instructions

The drug "Hemomycin" is a pharmacological drug, an antibiotic. Its active component, azithromycin, is a representative of the group of macrolide azalides. A high concentration of this substance at the site of inflammation has a profound bactericidal effect.

The drug is active against gram-negative, gram-positive, aerobic, anaerobic bacterial flora. However, microorganisms that exhibit resistance to erythromycin are resistant to it.

Bacteria sensitive to the drug:

  • streptococci, staphylococci;
  • meningococci;
  • gonococci;
  • listeria;
  • intracellular microorganisms: legionella, mycoplasma, chlamydia.

The product “Hemomycin” (suspension for children) can destroy Haemophilus influenzae and other dangerous pathogens. The effect of the solution on microorganisms leads to blocking of protein production in pathogenic cells, which can no longer grow and reproduce.

Compound

The active and additional components included in the antibiotic are presented in the table.

Substance Dosage, mg per 5 ml of ready solution
Azithromycin (dihydrate) 200
Additional components: xanthan gum, phosphate, calcium carbonate, silicon dioxide, sodium saccharinate, cherry, strawberry, apple flavoring.

Packaging: dark glass bottle, cardboard pack labeled “Hemomycin, suspension for children.” An additional measuring spoon is included.

Terms, conditions of sale and storage

Antibacterial drugs, regardless of the form of release, are sold in pharmacies only upon presentation of a prescription from a doctor. These measures have been taken to avoid cases of uncontrolled and illiterate self-medication, which often leads to negative and sometimes irreversible complications.

The powder for diluting the syrup is packaged in dark glass bottles to protect the lyophilisate from exposure to sunlight. To prepare the suspension, you should use only boiled or distilled water.

Like most medications, Hemomycin suspension is suitable for use for 3 years from the date of manufacture. In this case, the diluted syrup must be used within 5 days. After opening, the bottle should be stored in the refrigerator.

Indications for use

Pediatricians prescribe medication if a child is diagnosed with infectious diseases, inflammatory processes caused by antibiotic-sensitive microorganisms:

  • Infections affecting the ENT organs and upper respiratory tract, in particular otitis media, tonsillitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis - all diseases are successfully cured with the help of the drug "Hemomycin" (suspension).
  • Instructions for use of the medication indicate that the antibiotic is used in the treatment of scarlet fever.
  • Urological diseases, uncomplicated cervicitis, urethritis;
  • Respiratory tract infections (atypical pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis)
  • The initial phase of Lyme disease (borreliosis).
  • Infections affecting soft tissues and skin, including secondary dermatoses, erysipelas, impetigo.
  • Diseases of the intestines and stomach. The drug is prescribed as part of combination therapy.

Contraindications

The antibacterial drug Hemomycin in suspension for children cannot be used if there are contraindications. The primary limitation for treatment with azithromycin is hypersensitivity to it. You should not undergo a course of antibacterial therapy with Hemomycin if you have an allergic reaction to erythromycin, other macrolides and ketolides.

In case of liver failure, this antibiotic is not prescribed to patients. Chemomycin is not suitable for the treatment of bacterial infections in children younger than 6 months. Since the drug contains fructose, its use should be avoided in patients with individual intolerance.

Dosage

For children over one year of age, Hemomycin is prescribed in the form of a suspension. The dosage of the drug is calculated individually and depends on the body weight of the small patient. On average, 10 mg of the finished solution per kilogram of the child’s weight. A similar dosage is prescribed for diagnosing infectious diseases of the skin, respiratory system, and soft tissues, with the exception of erythema migrans, which occurs in a chronic form. The course dose does not exceed 30.0 mg/kg.

The recommended dosage is presented in the table data.

  • The contents are shaken well. The mass should become homogeneous.
  • If, after dissolving the mixture, the suspension level is below the mark, add the required amount of water and shake again.

The prepared product remains stable at standard room temperature for five days. This is an important advantage of the drug “Hemomycin”. Analogues are usually unstable.

special instructions

The drug should not be taken with food, as food slows down and interferes with the absorption of Azithromycin, and accordingly, the therapeutic effect of the suspension will be reduced.

Reviews

Next, you can see what reviews “Hemomycin” (suspension) has earned. Parents' opinions about the effectiveness of the drug were as follows:

  • When treating otitis, pediatricians usually prescribe a short course, since after the first dose of the drug the disease begins to recede. Some children experience allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes, which quickly disappear after stopping therapy.
  • Experts recommend supplementing treatment with medications that restore intestinal microflora, because Hemomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. These measures will prevent the development of disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract. Even small children experience significant relief when receiving this treatment.
  • "Hemomycin" (the price of the drug is affordable for everyone) is an effective remedy that deserves the trust of parents. Its action is revealed very quickly, which allows for a minimal course of treatment. The pleasant taste of the suspension leaves no doubt that the baby will swallow the medicine.

What to do after a course of antibiotics

Any antibiotic kills bacteria necessary for the body and disrupts digestion. To restore intestinal microflora and boost immunity, it is recommended to give the child preparations with live bacteria - probiotics. After a course of antibiotics, it is important to organize proper balanced nutrition for babies. Easily digestible food without chemicals and flavoring additives, fruits and vegetables, and fermented milk products will help restore the child’s body after suffering stress.

After taking potent drugs, it is recommended that infants breastfeed and temporarily abstain from complementary foods. Just as when taking medications, after the course of treatment you should avoid fatty, fried foods, smoked foods - anything that can disrupt the functioning of the baby’s gastrointestinal tract.

It usually takes 5-10 days for the microflora to fully restore. With proper care of the child, in a few days he will stop having constipation, diarrhea and other consequences of a course of antibiotics.

Peculiarities

"Hemomycin" is an antibiotic containing a highly effective active substance. It is safer than cheap generics. The drug is well tolerated among children; side effects are very rare.

The drug contains the original formula of the active substance. This allows the medicine to be delivered to the affected areas of the body in a timely manner. The antibiotic is highly purified, which is observed in proprietary products manufactured by large pharmaceutical companies.

Interaction

The bioavailability of azithromycin does not change with simultaneous use of antacids, however, a decrease in the concentration of the antibiotic in the blood serum is observed. It is recommended to maintain an interval between taking medications of one hour.

Cases of changes in the metabolism of digoxin have been identified when taken simultaneously with macrolides.

In patients taking macrolide antibiotics, signs of poisoning by ergot alkaloids were observed when taking its derivatives simultaneously.
