Description of the action of Iruksol ointment and its closest analogues

Iruksol is a high-quality ointment from European manufacturers Smith & Nephew SrL. It is a topical product intended for the treatment of wounds and burns. The difference between the drug lies in its unique composition and inaccessibility - in most Russian pharmacies the drug simply does not go on sale. You can buy it only in specialized stores or order online.

The drug copes with the healing of wounds, ulcers, and burns almost painlessly. Read our article for a more detailed description of the product.

Compound

Iruksol ointment contains 2 main components: clostridiopeptidase, chloramphenicol.
Clostridiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme, chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic antibiotic used in many medications. As well as auxiliary components: paraffin oil, white Vaseline.
Paraffin oil is widely used in cosmetology, moisturizes and softens the skin. Vaseline is also used in cosmetology and is often used to remove impurities from the skin.

Are there any analogues?

“Iruksol” (ointment), instructions, price, analogues of which are indicated in this article, today there are no similar drugs that have exactly the same active composition. However, pharmacies have a wide variety of other drugs that have a similar effect. First of all, you should pay attention to such medications as “Abisil”, “Bepanten”, “Sudocrem”, “Erbisol” and many others. Do not self-medicate under any circumstances, as this may cause negative consequences. Each of these drugs should be prescribed to you by a specialist after carrying out the necessary types of diagnostics.

pharmachologic effect

Iruksol ointment is a medicinal product belonging to the group of drugs for topical use.

The ointment is characterized by wound-healing, antibacterial and wound-cleansing properties. Iruksol accelerates the process of tissue regeneration after damage. The drug also cleanses wounds and prevents the development of infection.

Has a bacteriostatic effect. E. coli, hemophilus influenzae, anaerobes and other microorganisms pathological for humans are sensitive to it.

Pharmacodynamics of the drug

Due to the combination of the main element and a broad-spectrum antibiotic, Iruksol mono makes it possible to clean wounds from necrotic masses and purulent deposits. This helps prevent the spread of infection and the natural healing process of damage.

With the help of Iruksol mazi, tissue is enzymatically cleansed without pain or bleeding. This melts necrotic tissue and scabs.

Iruksol ointment does not damage healthy tissue and does not contain water. The drug helps restore tissue without interfering with natural processes in the body.

Popular questions

  • Is it possible to speed up the healing process when applied? The instructions must be strictly followed; no other actions need to be taken. The ointment already contains everything necessary for healing the damaged surface. If you simultaneously lubricate the wound with other means, this will only worsen the situation, since the effect of the drug will be reduced.
  • Do I need to use the medication until it is delayed or can I switch to cheaper medications? Purulent, necrotic lesions should be treated with Iruksol until healing. Other ointments simply won’t cope, or this process will be long. But if the wound has already been cleaned, there are no scabs or pus in it, and a lasting improvement in its condition is observed, then it is allowed to switch to cheaper means. But this issue should be discussed with your doctor.
  • How much ointment should be applied to the wound? If I add more, will it speed up the process? The speed of recovery is influenced by many factors: size, depth, severity, presence of infection, diabetes, etc. It is recommended to apply the ointment in a layer of no more than 2 mm. More doesn't mean better. But in some cases this indicator can be adjusted. Contact your doctor for advice.

Indications for use

Iruxol is recommended for use:

  • for skin lesions and necrosis (1st-2nd degree burns, trophic and varicose ulcers, gangrene of the extremities, frostbite);
  • for the treatment of wounds with vascular pathologies (vasculitis, thrombophlebitis);
  • during tissue transplantation;
  • on wounds that do not heal for several weeks (radiation, postoperative, post-traumatic injuries of soft tissues).

Iruxsol mono helps to cope with the most complex soft tissue injuries and prevents the development of infections in them.

Consumer Opinions

Most patients are satisfied with the described medicine. The drug "Iruksol" allows you to quickly and effectively deal with wound surfaces. The medicine is well tolerated and very rarely causes side effects.

Many consumers talk about the high cost of the medicine. Indeed, a small package of ointment weighing only 30 grams costs more than two thousand rubles. This price is explained by the components of the drug and its high effectiveness. The package is usually enough for one course of treatment. However, if there is a large area of the wound surface, it may be necessary to additionally purchase the described product. At the same time, the manufacturer does not produce large packages due to their high cost.

Side effects

When using the drug, side effects such as burning and pain often occur. These are local irritant reactions that go away over time. If such signs appear without the recommendation of the attending physician, there is no need to stop use.

Iruksol ointment may also have other serious side effects. Patients may present with swelling, itching, contact dermatitis, exanthema and redness. These manifestations of side effects quickly disappear when you stop using the drug.

With prolonged use of the ointment, the following may also be observed: aplastic anemia (impaired hematopoietic function of the bone marrow), leukopenia (decreased number of leukocytes in the blood), thrombocytopenia (blood clotting disorder), agranulocytosis (decreased level of leukocytes).

In cases of serious side effects, it is recommended to consult a doctor to change or discontinue use.

Compatibility with other drugs

Iruksol ointment has less effect when used with other local drugs. It is better not to use the product together with other ointments. This will reduce the effectiveness of wound healing. Also not compatible with antiseptics, bath soap solutions and heavy metals.

Iruksol should not be combined with substances such as tyrothricin, gramicidin and tetracycline. These elements have bactericidal properties and are prescribed for the treatment of stomatitis and other diseases caused by the proliferation of pathogenic bacteria.

Treatment with ointment can be combined with drinking alcohol. But to enhance the effect of alcoholic drinks, it is recommended to abstain until complete recovery.

Doctor's assessment

For wound healing, various stimulating drugs are used that can speed up the process. Iruksol is one of them. In fact, we are dealing with a combined product, because its main components are two substances that can complement each other perfectly. This has such a wonderful effect.

For example, the antibiotic chloramphenicol has a very wide spectrum of action. In fact, all microbes are under his “target”. And what is the method of countering them: this antibiotic disrupts the mechanism of protein synthesis, and this is certain death for microbes.

But cleaning, after eliminating the microbe, is the task of the second important component - collagenase. It is this “tandem” that is able to cope with the most severe wounds

This drug copes very well in terms of treating injuries such as burns or frostbite, that is, caused by extremely high or low temperatures for a person.

As practice shows, almost after the first session the wounds gradually clear up

What is important is that collagenase does not harm healthy skin. By the end of the week, most patients note reliable wound healing

Karim Naumovich, surgeon

It is interesting that in the treatment of the most complex types of wounds, Iruksol has no competitor, that is, today there is no more or less optimal analogue of this ointment.

Naturally, new drugs appeared that manufacturers tried to position as analogues. One way or another, they never gained popularity.

Use of the drug

The exact dose and period of use are determined by the attending physician. The drug can be prescribed for 5-14 days of regular use 1-2 times a day.

A layer of ointment as thick as a knife blade is applied to the affected area of skin. The drug should be applied evenly. The ointment can also be applied under a bandage.

The skin must first be prepared. It is recommended to apply incisions to necrotic areas of the skin for deeper penetration of the ointment. Also, before using Iruksol mazi, it is necessary to soften the affected area of skin using a compress. It is not allowed to add any substances other than water to the compress.

If there are dead cells on the skin in the form of exfoliations, they must be removed before using Iruxol mono. It is necessary to wash the affected area of skin before applying the ointment. This can only be done with saline solution.

Only the attending physician can cancel or replace the drug. After cleansing of necrotic masses, drugs are prescribed to enhance epithelization and granulation.

Miracle ointment for wounds, bedsores, abscesses, burns, knee pain

I found a good recipe on the Internet.

Here is what the author Tatyana Veklenko writes:

“I have a recipe for a wonderful ointment. This is a kind of “savior” in our family. This ointment draws out pus very well.

What is it treated with:

- sinusitis (melt a little ointment in a spoon and while it is hot, put it in a pipette and drop it into your nose twice in a row after a couple of hours). - purulent otitis (a gauze flagellum soaked in ointment is inserted into the ear), - abscesses and boils, - bronchi, stomach pain (take 1/3 tsp of ointment three times a day before meals). - fibroma, ovarian cysts, inflammation (to lubricate the vagina), - trophic ulcers,

- burns, knee pain.

To prepare the ointment you need:

200 gr. sunflower oil

beeswax (from a matchbox) yolk from a boiled egg.

Pour the oil into an enamel bowl of at least 2 liters (I have a ladle) and throw in the wax. Place over low heat and, stirring, melt the wax. When the oil and wax boil, take the yolk in small pieces and, rubbing between your fingers, crumble into the boiling oil. The oil will begin to foam. Remove the ladle from the heat so that the contents do not escape. Let him “rage” on the sidelines. Then put it on the fire again and do this until all the yolk is used up.

Remove from heat (the ointment is ready). While still hot, filter through a strainer.

When the ointment has cooled, put it in the refrigerator. The ointment can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 10 months.

Ointment for bedsores and wounds.

If someone had to stay in a hospital for neurosurgery, they probably saw the severe suffering of people of different ages.

So, one day a woman was admitted to the department after a car accident, she had a terrible deep wound in her pelvic area, and bedsores had already appeared on her stomach.

I was saved by an ointment that can only be called miraculous! Because the treatment took place before my eyes. The gaping wound healed, turned pink, and the bedsores disappeared.

A patient from the next ward shared the recipe.

I highly recommend having this recipe for ointment for bedsores and wounds in your home, because life is not without clouds. If someone thinks that the norm is too high, reduce it by ½ or 1/3 of each ingredient.

We will need:

Grind propolis into 50 g pieces, 10 g beeswax, 300 g of pure petroleum jelly (sold at the pharmacy).

Take an enamel saucepan, put propolis, wax, petroleum jelly in it and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 hour over low heat.

Remove from heat, cool, add 150 g of honey, 500 g of furatsilin ointment (sold at the pharmacy).

Mix everything well and cook from the moment of boiling for 15 minutes over low heat.

Once cooled, pour into clean glass jars with a lid.
