Pharmacological properties of the drug

Viprosal ointment has become widely known due to its unique multicomponent composition. The therapeutic effect provided is based on the combination of properties of the ointment components, which enhance and complement each other’s effects.

The main active ingredient of the drug Viprosal is snake venom. This is a complex mixture of proteins, amino acids, enzymes and other organic and inorganic compounds produced by the glands of the poisonous viper snake from the viper family. When they come into contact with the skin, these substances stimulate the endings of nerve fibers that send impulses to the central nervous system, which leads to a local and reflex response. The nervous system includes motor and autonomic nerve fibers innervating skeletal muscles, internal organs, glands, and blood vessels. Blood clotting is activated, local release of biological signaling molecules and peptides that regulate many physiological processes in the body - bradykinin, histamine.

Taken together, the complex of active ingredients that form the basis of Viprosal B ointment produces the following pharmacological effect:

  • local irritating effect - excites the terminal branches of dendrites (the processes of nerve cells that receive and transmit a signal to the body of a sensitive neuron), activating regulatory mechanisms, in particular the vascular center. Creates a distracting thermal effect and a slight burning sensation, causes redness of the skin due to the expansion of superficial blood vessels, improves the trophism of the underlying tissues and organs involved in the pathological process, which has a positive effect on the course of the disease, accelerates the restoration of damaged structures and the healing process;
  • analgesic effect - suppresses pain impulses, reduces the intensity of the sensation of pain by activating the analgesic defense system, which regulates the perception of pain, and increasing the production of endogenous opioid peptides by brain cells, which have a pronounced analgesic effect.
