Its main component is lactose - an artificially obtained oligosaccharide containing particles of substances such as fructose and galactose.
This component is able to stimulate intestinal activity, as well as enhance the secretion of bile acids into its lumen. Thanks to this drug, the absorption of calcium salts and phosphates is significantly improved.

Under the influence of the active substance of the drug, the number of lactobacilli in the large intestine increases significantly. This has a positive effect on acidity (it increases), due to which intestinal motility is activated.

Overdose
Treatment of chronic constipation may take more than a month, during which the dosage of the medication is gradually reduced. During this period, it is extremely important not to exceed the daily dose of the drug in order to eliminate the risk of developing negative symptoms.
In case of overdose the following are noted:
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Severe diarrhea.
- Cramps and pain in the abdomen.
- Dehydration of the body.
- Increased fatigue, drowsiness.
Accidental one-time use of an increased dose of the drug usually will not lead to any serious consequences. - The minimum time of therapy with this drug in this situation is 3 months.
In the postoperative period:
- The drug is prescribed 18 hours after the end of the operation for a period of three to five days. Adults receive from 10 to 30 ml three times a day, children over one year of age - from 5 to 10 ml up to three times a day, children under one year old - five milliliters up to three times a day.
