Bifidumbacterin forte, 50 million CFU, powder for oral administration, 0.85 g, 30 pcs.

pharmachologic effect

This medicine produces a pronounced therapeutic effect due to the fact that under its influence the intestines are populated with bifidobacteria. Bifidumbacterin is a probiotic , the effect of which ensures the restoration of normal microflora in the human intestine.

Bifidumbacterin Forte is an antagonist of a number of pathogenic, as well as so-called opportunistic microorganisms. An immunomodulatory effect is also noted; the medicine improves digestion processes and metabolism in the body, and normalizes other functions of the gastrointestinal tract.

What kind of remedy is Bifidumbacterin?

The drug is a microbial substance that contains colonies of living bifidocultures that populate the intestinal lumen. For better action, the medicine contains lactose - the “food” of bacteria, thanks to which they quickly multiply in the body. The medicine is intended to eliminate digestive pathologies and eliminate intoxications.

The tool has several forms:

  • dry preparation in powder: white, packaged in portioned sachets;

There are many analogues of the drug - probiotics, which act similarly. These drugs are Bifidumbacterin , Bifiform , Bifinorm , Biolact , etc. They contain live bifidobacteria, which are capable of suppressing the activity of pathogenic microorganisms.

How does Bifidumbacterin work?

Colonies of beneficial bacteria, spreading over the surface of the mucous membranes, displace pathogenic microflora. The drug inhibits the proliferation of E. coli, yeast, staphylococci and other pathogens. This has a beneficial effect on well-being, improves digestion, and stabilizes local immunity. Bifidumbacterin is almost not absorbed into the general bloodstream, it acts locally without disturbing the basic functions of the body.

Analogs and substitutes for medicines

There are many drugs that have similar composition, pharmacological and therapeutic effects to this drug. The following Bifidumbacterin analogues are widely used

  • Probifor;
  • Acylact;
  • Bififol.

Substitutes that exhibit a stronger effect and contain different types of bacterial cultures are presented:

  • Linux;
  • Maxilak;
  • Bifiform;
  • Acipol.

Due to the presence of several types of bacteria of normal microflora in these probiotics, these medications are able to act faster and maintain balance in the body for longer.

Side effects and likelihood of overdose

If the recommended dosages are followed, there are no side effects from the treatment. In rare cases, there is a possibility of allergic reactions to the components of its composition.

Regardless of whether the drug was taken before meals or later, it does not affect the ability to concentrate and the speed of psychomotor reactions.

The probiotic does not have cumulative properties and is not able to accumulate in the body, and therefore an overdose is unlikely. If by chance you take too much Bifidumbacterin before or after meals, the excess is excreted naturally - with feces.

How to dilute and take the powder

The powdered drug is prescribed to patients of various age groups and categories. To obtain a pronounced effect, it is necessary to clarify how to take Bifidumbacterin correctly. Before use, the medicine must be mixed with a small amount of liquid (boiled water, fermented milk products).

For newborns, the drug is diluted according to a different principle. For use by infants, the powder is combined with mother's milk or formula.

Any liquid used in the process of preparing the solution must be at room temperature.

During treatment, the question may arise: Bifidumbacterin, how to dilute the drug

T? As a result of dissolving the powder, a mixture with small black particles should form.

The resulting composition must be consumed without waiting until it is completely dissolved.

Attention!

Do not dilute the powder in hot water. This leads to the death of bifidobacteria and the absence of therapeutic effects.

Release form and composition

Bifidumbacterin Forte capsule

The main forms of sales of the medicine are capsules and dry mixture packaged in bags. Each sachet contains 5 doses of the active substance. The powder form and Bifidumbacterin Forte in capsules contain bifidobacteria, which are pre-sorbed on activated carbon. An additional component is lactose.

Regular Bifidumbacterin can be purchased in glass ampoules, but the drug with the prefix “Forte” in the name is not sold in this form.

Terms and conditions of storage

Storing tablets

Capsules and powders in sealed form are stored at a temperature not exceeding 10ºC. The shelf life of the biosorbent is 1 year. The medicine cannot be used for treatment if there is a violation of the integrity of the packaging.

Under no circumstances should you store a previously prepared solution from Bifidumbacterin Forte powder. The drug is used completely immediately after dilution.

Compatibility of the drug with antibiotics

Bifidumbacterin does not tend to interact with other drugs. The exceptions are B vitamins and antibiotics. In the first case, there is an increase in the therapeutic effect.

If you use Bifidumbacterin with antibiotics

– there is suppression of growth and gradual death of beneficial microorganisms. This leads to a decrease or complete absence of the therapeutic effect of the probiotic. In this regard, you need to know how it is recommended to take Bifidumbacterin with antibiotics. The dosage and duration of taking the powder for patients undergoing antibiotic therapy should be increased.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:

The medicinal properties of the drug are determined by the live lyophilized bifidobacteria (Bifidobacterium bifidum) contained in it, which are inherent in humans from birth and have antagonistic activity against a wide range of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms. The high quantitative level of bifidobacteria in the preparation makes it possible to normalize the intestinal microflora and thereby improve the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, metabolic processes, parietal digestion, and increase the nonspecific resistance of the body.
