Gaynomax suppositories are a topical medicine that produces a pronounced antifungal, antibacterial and antiparasitic effect. This drug is widely used in the field of gynecology and obstetrics.

Release format and composition of the medicinal product

Gaynomax suppositories are produced in the form of suppositories intended for vaginal use. This medicine is an oblong-shaped solid substance with pointed ends on one side. These suppositories are packaged in cell compartments in cardboard packs of seven pieces. The drug is sold complete with special finger pads intended for one-time use. They are supplied for ease of insertion of suppositories into the vagina. The main active ingredients of the drug are tioconazole (100 milligrams per suppository) and tinidazole (150).

Analogs

The drug Gainomax has a sufficient number of analogues with a similar mechanism of action and composition. As substitutes for the drug, it is worth considering other drugs intended for intravaginal use.

Terzhinan

The drug Terzhinan is produced in the form of tablets. Intended for vaginal use. The drug is highly active - after the start of treatment, unpleasant symptoms in patients are quickly eliminated. The composition is active against bacteria, protozoa and fungi. The active component is not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, so it can be prescribed to pregnant and lactating women, unlike the drug Gaynomax.

Clotrimazole

The drug Clotrimazole is produced in the form of tablets for intravaginal administration. The composition is highly popular because it does not have a high price. The drug is well tolerated and does not cause adverse reactions.

Pimafucin

The drug Pimafucin is considered as an analogue of the drug in terms of pharmacological activity. The product is also produced in the form of suppositories intended for intravaginal use. The composition is able to eliminate the symptoms of vaginal candidiasis after the first use. The drug is well tolerated and does not cause adverse reactions.

Livarol

The drug Livarol is considered a popular formulation used to treat thrush in women. The drug is well tolerated and rarely provokes negative reactions. Before you start using it, you need to consult a gynecologist. The product is contraindicated for use in pediatric practice.

Pharmacological properties of the drug

So, as is already known, Gaynomax suppositories contain two active ingredients in the form of tioconazole and tinidazole. The first is a fairly powerful antifungal drug, distinguished by its synthetic origin, which can exhibit very high therapeutic activity against the yeast-like fungi Candida, as well as gardnerella and some varieties of gram-positive bacteria (be it staphylococci, streptococci and others). This drug can penetrate directly into the pathogen cells and the lesion, which effectively prevents the subsequent progression of the infection.

Tinidazole, which is part of the suppositories, is endowed with great therapeutic activity against such parasites as Trichomonas, Giardia, Gardnerella, Clostridia, Escherichia coli and other pathogenic pathogens. When inserting suppositories into the vagina, the active active ingredients of the drug act locally and practically do not enter the general bloodstream.

Pharmacological group

The drug Gaynomax is a combination of tioconazole and tinidazole. Tioconazole is a synthetic antifungal agent with high activity against yeast-like and other fungi (dermatophytes). It is also effective against bacterial pathogens.

The mechanism of action of tinidazole is not fully understood. Reduction of the nitro group is mediated by the ferredoxin system and the low redox potential produced only by anaerobic bacteria.

When administered intravaginally, both tioconazole and tinidazole are only slightly absorbed. Therefore, the absorption of the two drugs in combination should be low.

Pharmacokinetics

According to the instructions for use for Gaynomax suppositories, after a single administration of 300 milligrams of tioconazole in the form of vaginal suppositories in patients with candidiasis, as a rule, the average concentration of this drug in plasma is 18 nanograms per milliliter.

In most clinical trials, it was found that after a single dose of intravaginally administered tioconazole in the amount of 300 milligrams, its concentration in the vaginal secretion helps to suppress the reproduction of Candida fungi for three days.

With a single intravaginal use, only ten percent of tinidazole is systemically absorbed. Against the background of intravaginal use, tioconazole, like tinidazole, is only slightly absorbed. Therefore, the percentage of absorption of the two ingredients in combination should be low.

Gaynomax instructions for use of suppositories

Latin name: gynomax ATC code: G01AF20 Active ingredient: Tioconazole, tinidazole Manufacturer: Embil Pharmaceutical, Turkey Dispensing conditions from the pharmacy: By prescription
Gynomax suppositories are prescribed for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory processes in gynecology in women.

Composition of the drug

Active ingredients: ticonazole - 100 mg in one suppository and tinidazole - 150 mg in one suppository. The auxiliary component is vitepsol.

Medicinal properties

The active ingredients in the suppositories provide a wide therapeutic complex and fight against many infectious pathogens. Tioconazole works best against fungal structures, especially against yeast-like and bacteria, which also includes thrush.

The active substance inhibits the activity of Gardnerella vaginalis, Trichomonas and Bacteroides; the list also includes gram-positive pathogenic microorganisms. The therapeutic effect is triggered by tioconazole disrupting the integrity of the membrane structures of the fungus, as well as suppressing the synthesis of ergosterol, which is necessary to maintain the life of the fungus.

Since the enzyme ergosterol stops being synthesized, the fungal pathogen stops multiplying and soon dies altogether.

The second active component of Gainomax tinidazole suppositories is active against protozoal and anaerobic microorganisms. These include: Giardia lamblia, Enteroamoeba histolytica, Eubacterium species, Bacteroides fragilis, Trichomonas vaginalis, Peptostreptococcus, Bacteroides, Clostridia, Veillonella.

The combined composition based on tioconazole and tinidazole is powerful, so in 90 - 100% of cases there is a rapid disposal of pathogenic pathogens in the gynecological area. With intravaginal administration of the drug, a persistent therapeutic effect occurs in approximately 85 out of 100 cases.

Mode of application

The average cost of the drug in Russia is 1030 rubles per package.

Gaynomax is easy to use - insert suppositories deep enough into the vagina using thin rubber medical gloves once a day before bed for a week, or 2 times a day for 3 days in a row.

After administration during the daytime, it is advisable to lie down for 40 minutes so that the drug is well distributed along the walls of the vagina.

Reviews about the drug

Reviews about Gaynomax candles are mostly positive on the Internet. Their effectiveness in the treatment of vaginitis is noted. There are practically no reports on the development of adverse reactions. In the comments there are sometimes some complaints about the cost of this remedy. But in general, even despite the fairly high price, patients are satisfied with the results of the treatment.

For example, it is reported that this medication perfectly helps women cope with the presence of vaginitis against the background of the development of colpitis, bacterial vaginosis and the appearance of recurrent vaginal candidiasis. In addition, the effectiveness of these suppositories is also reported in the case of complex treatment for trichomoniasis or against the background of gardnerellosis, just as in the case of vulvovaginitis.

Thus, this medication is recommended for women with various infectious inflammations of the vaginal mucous membranes caused by Candida fungi. Most reviews (including medical ones) emphasize that this medication helps perfectly in the presence of vaginal candidiasis, and it can also be successfully used for vulvovaginitis, which is caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. The effectiveness of the drug is especially praised in the treatment of vaginitis and diseases of the genitourinary organs that arise as a result of the activity of certain pathogenic microorganisms.
