Instructions for use of Collomak: method and dosage

Kolomak is used externally.

The solution (1 drop) should be applied to the affected skin areas. Frequency of application – 1-2 times a day. For hyperkeratosis of the feet (calluses) and plantar warts, the therapeutic effect is enhanced by a warm foot bath.

The maximum dose for adults is 10 ml per day (corresponding to 2 g of salicylic acid). As a rule, after 3-4 days (after taking a warm foot bath), calluses and calluses can be removed.

The maximum daily dose for children is 1 ml (corresponding to 0.2 g of salicylic acid). The specified dose must not be exceeded. When treating children, several areas should not be treated simultaneously.

The duration of therapy is determined individually based on the effectiveness of the drug, however, when using the maximum daily dose, it should not exceed 7 days. If necessary, the treatment course can be repeated.

Do not allow the drug to come into contact with mucous membranes and eyes. To avoid damage to the tissues surrounding the lesion, zinc paste must be applied to them before applying the solution.

The bottle with the drug should be tightly closed after use.

Features of use in the treatment of warts

It is prohibited to treat neoplasms with Collomak on infants and newborns.

If you need to cauterize papillomas in several areas at the same time, then take your time, carry out the treatment in stages, without exceeding the daily dose of the drug. There is a possibility that you will find a growth from which the infection is occurring, and all subsequent papules around will disappear on their own after it dies.

During pregnancy, women are advised to apply the solution to small areas at a time, maximum 5 cm.

Do not cauterize hairy warts.

Overdose

Salicylic acid preparations when used externally, as a rule, do not cause toxic side effects, even if the maximum dosage was unintentionally exceeded for a short time. Sometimes skin irritation may occur at the site where an excess amount of the drug is applied. Treatment consists of removing the product from the surface of the skin.

If you accidentally swallow Collomac solution, rinse your mouth with plenty of water and then consult a doctor.

Description and composition of the drug

Warts and papillomas cause not only aesthetic, but also physical discomfort. Due to the increased activity of the human papillomavirus, growths form in a single copy or multiple rashes. Harmful strains appear due to decreased immunity, emotional disorders, stressful situations, poor lifestyle and exacerbation of chronic diseases. Therefore, treatment of papillomas and other skin tumors is often accompanied by taking various medications.

Growths with a bumpy surface require timely removal, otherwise benign specimens can develop into cancer. Collomak copes with this task perfectly. The drug belongs to the group of drugs with antimicrobial and keratolytic effects.

The medication is a solution that is used externally. The product is available in 10 ml bottles made of dark glass. The screw-on polypropylene cap has a special brush-smear, with which the medicine is applied to the skin. Each bottle is packaged in a cardboard box with detailed instructions for using the solution.

Collomac contains several active substances:

Rules for using the drug Collomac

  • Salicylic acid. The keratolytic base ensures peeling and destruction of the growth. In addition, salicylic acid has an antimicrobial effect.
  • Polidocanol. The component is characterized by sclerosing and analgesic effects. Polidocanol prevents the recurrence of neoplasms on the skin.
  • Lactic acid. The substance affects the keratinization process and leads to chemical destruction of the growth.

Collomak also contains auxiliary components, presented in the form of acetone, dibutyl phthalate and ethylcellulose. Although the kinetic properties of the drug have not been studied, scientists are convinced that the drug does not have a resorptive effect when applied topically. The drug has a local irritant effect. The active substances of the drug stimulate nerve endings , which improves blood supply and tissue nutrition.

Features of the use of the drug Collomak

The medication should be stored in a dark and dry place at a temperature no higher than + 26 degrees. The shelf life of the medicine is 5 years. After this time, the drug cannot be used. Collomak is dispensed from pharmacies without a prescription from a doctor. The price of the medicine varies between 290−340 rubles.

In some cases, your doctor may replace the antimicrobial with another medicine. This is necessary if the patient has an individual intolerance to the components of Collomac. Analogs of the drug are Duofilm, Verrukacid, Ferezol, Salicylic ointment, Solcoderm and Supercelandine. You cannot prescribe these medications to yourself, since only a doctor can determine the correct treatment in accordance with the diagnosis.

special instructions

Collomac solution should not be applied to hairy warts, moles, or warts on the face or genitals.

The drug is not recommended for use in patients with functional renal impairment (renal failure). In such patients, the use of drugs containing salicylates is possible only with extreme caution.

Collomac should not be allowed to come into contact with mucous membranes, especially the eyes. In the event of such an incident, the affected area should be flushed with copious amounts of water.

The use of the solution during pregnancy is permissible only when applied to a small area of skin (no more than 5 cm²). When using Collomak by nursing women, accidental ingestion of the solution by the infant (through contact with the treated surfaces of the mother's body) should be avoided.

How does the drug act on papillomatosis?

This medicine for warts is universal, as it can dissolve intercellular substances contained inside the epithelium.

When applied to damaged tissue, Kolomak burns the surface, thereby causing dehydration and mummification inside the skin formation. As a result, cells infected with the virus stop dividing and are destroyed.

Manufacturers managed to create a unique formula of a solution that softens and then destroys the growth and at the same time fights the infection at the site of its activity.

Reviews about the drug are mostly positive, which indicates its high effectiveness.

The price of the medicine fluctuates around 300 rubles, which is much less than removal using hardware methods - laser, radio waves, etc.

Reviews about Collomac

Reviews about Collomak are contradictory. Some patients are very satisfied with the drug and say that after just 2 weeks of use they got rid of warts forever. The product is painless and does not cause side effects.

Other reviews report that Collomak is an expensive and ineffective product that only deals with young, non-hardened warts, and for plantar warts or calluses, it removes only the top layer of keratinized skin, while the wart or callus itself remains. This is probably due to the fact that old warts and calluses penetrate deeply into the layers of the skin and it is not always possible to remove them after one course of treatment.

Some reviews say that when applying Collomak, severe itching and irritation appeared.
