Respiratory diseases that attack during the cold season negatively affect the quality of life. Sore throat, influenza, ARVI - a list of popular “autumn-winter” diseases, which are difficult to protect yourself from due to the specific nature of their spread. But there are drugs that quickly relieve symptoms, relieve inflammation and relieve pain.

A popular remedy from this series is Malavit for angina - a multifunctional naturopathic remedy. Malavit is often prescribed by otolaryngologists, so you should know how and under what clinical picture to use the drug, as well as its strengths and weaknesses.

Release form and composition

Malavit is a naturopathic drug that contains only herbal ingredients. Available in gel and solution form. Damaged areas of the skin are treated with gel. The rinse solution is used to treat sore throat.

For a sore throat, Malavit is used as an antiseptic. The constituent components have anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, antimicrobial effects. You can also gargle with the product as a preventive measure after contact with a person with a sore throat.

Malavit contains plant and mineral components and auxiliary substances. Let's take a closer look at what it consists of:

  • Copper, silver. This biocomplex is a good antiseptic. Destroys and prevents the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms.
  • Mumiyo. This natural mineral-organic complex has been known since ancient times. For angina, it helps reduce inflammation, remove toxins, restore damaged tissue, strengthen local and general immunity.
  • Juices of medicinal plants (yarrow, wormwood, calendula, sage, St. John's wort, immortelle). Relieves inflammation from tissues, reduces symptoms of irritation and itching.
  • Cedar and fir resins. They have a wound-healing effect and relieve inflammation from affected tissues.
  • Larch gum. Destroys staphylococcal microflora.
  • Glycerol. Softens and moisturizes the mucous membrane, prevents the formation of scars and adhesions.
  • Oak bark. It has a pronounced tanning and anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Birch and pine bud extract. Relieves inflammation, disinfects, promotes tissue regeneration.
  • Spring water. Unlike other medicines, Malavit does not just contain distilled water; the basis of the product is water obtained from Altai springs. According to the manufacturer, this allows you to preserve as much as possible all the beneficial properties of the ingredients.

Before gargling with Malavit, you should consult your doctor. Despite its rich composition, the drug is still not recognized by official medicine; it has not been given the status of “medicinal”; it belongs to the group of naturopathic. Naturopaths themselves are also not recognized as doctors; they belong to the category of healers. This type of alternative therapy is based not only on the use of natural ingredients, which, by and large, is a positive quality, but also on instilling in the patient on a subconscious level that this remedy is irreplaceable and cures all ailments, in which case the “placebo” principle works. .

Symptoms and types of sore throat

Features of throat disease

The symptoms of a sore throat resemble ARVI, but they are more pronounced and more severe. The patient's temperature can rise to 40 degrees. The main symptom is severe sore throat. Upon examination, strong redness of the throat, tonsils, and upper palate is immediately noticeable.

In some cases, a purulent process may occur. Pustules appear on the tonsils. The patient has difficulty swallowing and speaking, and the pain intensifies when the throat dries out. In this case, Malavit for sore throat and other gargles are often recommended.

With angina, there is aches, weakness in the body, drowsiness, and headache. Lymph nodes near the tonsils may become enlarged and tender.

A sore throat, unlike a cold, does not go away on its own in a week. It must be treated, otherwise it will drag on for a long time and lead to complications.

There are several types of sore throat:

  • Catarrhal. The mildest form of sore throat, which, however, can develop into a more severe form if left untreated. The temperature does not rise above 38 degrees, the sore throat is moderate, tolerable, subsides after 2 days or intensifies when it becomes more severe. Pus does not form with such a sore throat.
  • Herpetic. This form of sore throat occurs more often in children. The temperature rises to 40 degrees, severe sore throat, headache, and abdominal pain occur. Possible diarrhea. On the tonsils you can see small bubbles that burst and disappear on their own.
  • Follicular. The follicles of the tonsils become inflamed and swollen. Yellowish blisters can be observed on the tonsils and upper palate. When the follicles open, a purulent plaque forms on the tonsils.
  • Necrotic. One of the most severe forms of sore throat. The patient has an increased level of leukocytes in the blood, as well as high temperature, fever, delirium, and vomiting. The tonsils become loose and uneven. Inflammatory processes can spread to other tissues.

How to properly use a solution to treat a throat

Malavit in otolaryngology is used only for treating inflamed mucous membranes. The drug cannot be taken orally.

Following the instructions in the manual, for gargling, Malavit drops are diluted with water. Standard regimen ─ from 5 to 10 drops per 100 ml of water. Maximum dosage ─ 15 drops. For children under 5 years of age, the solution is prescribed taking into account age ─ 1 drop per 1 year of life (for 100 ml of water).

Carry out 3 to 5 rinses daily. The duration of therapy depends on the diagnosis and is determined by the attending physician.

For infants and small children who do not know how to gargle on their own, the oral mucosa is wiped with a cotton swab generously soaked in a medicinal solution (diluted).

Cases of overdose during treatment with the drug were not recorded.

Rules for gargling with Malavit:

  1. The solution must be fresh and must be prepared immediately before use..
  2. During the procedure, you should not tilt your head back too much to avoid the risk of liquid entering the respiratory tract.
  3. In order for the medicine to penetrate deep into the throat, it is recommended to pronounce the sound “Y” while gargling.
  4. The remaining solution must be poured out and cannot be stored.

Indications for use

Due to its rich composition, Malavit can be used to treat pathologies of various systems in children and adults, not just the throat. It is used for gynecological diseases (vaginitis of bacterial origin, thrush, cervical erosion, ureplasmosis cystitis).

Indications for the use of Malavit are various diseases, injuries of the skin and adjacent soft tissues. These include bedsores, injuries, boils, acne, insect bites, blockages of the sebaceous and sweat glands, burns, frostbite, herpes, candidiasis, psoriasis. In addition, the drug is used for preventive purposes for daily skin treatment.

Malavit is also used in combination with others in the treatment of pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, such as myositis, arthritis, osteochondrosis, arthritis, arthrosis. For fractures, bruises, extensive hematomas, dislocations, sprains, the drug helps tissues recover faster.

But still, Malavit is mainly used to treat runny nose, colds, sinusitis, to rinse the mouth and throat for tonsillitis and other pathologies of the upper respiratory system.

A naturopathic remedy can only be used in complex therapy of throat diseases as an auxiliary one. You cannot stop taking medications prescribed by your doctor on your own. The main treatment for angina is etiotropic therapy, it is aimed at eliminating the cause of the disease (antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals). The use of Malavit for tonsillitis will only relieve unpleasant symptoms in the throat, while the original cause will still remain. Such treatment entails serious complications, the transition of the pathology to a chronic form.

Overdose

Few cases of Malavit poisoning have been recorded in medicine. If the drug is used according to the instructions, an overdose is impossible. It is not recommended to increase the frequency of rinsing in order to get rid of the disease faster. In large doses, the solution dries out the mucous membrane, and the pain is felt more acutely.

If dryness is noticed after the number of rinses indicated by the doctor, the drug should be discontinued. This reaction occurs if the medicine is not suitable for a particular patient. It is replaced with an analogue, taking into account the characteristics of the human body. Taking Malavit is often accompanied by the development of allergic reactions - another manifestation of an overdose.

Directions for use and dosage

The drug should be used only after consultation with your doctor, regardless of the organ where the inflammatory process is localized. The doctor will tell you how to dilute Malavit for gargling and how many drops to take for one procedure. In each clinical case, the dosage and regimen of use varies.

Before rinsing the throat, the drug should be diluted; to do this, add 20 drops of Malavit to a glass of boiled water cooled to room temperature. You need to rinse the oropharynx 5 times a day. The procedure must be carried out after each meal and before bedtime. The course of treatment is selected individually; it is recommended to use it until the pain in the throat disappears.

For skin lesions, Malavit is used in the form of a cream or gel, applied to the affected areas 3-4 times a day, not washed off. You can make lotions in the form of a drying compress. To do this, the bandage is moistened with a solution, applied to the wound until the product evaporates completely, without being insulated on top.

Compatibility with other drugs

A sore throat cannot be treated solely with Malavit. The solution acts as an additional therapy to the main treatment. The patient may be prescribed antibiotics, lozenges for the throat and other medications. It is very important to carry out comprehensive treatment to get a positive result.

If a person uses Malavit to gargle, he is prohibited from simultaneously using a drug with a similar effect. The patient thinks that this will help achieve results faster, but most often it is because of this opinion that instead of treatment, the mucous membrane becomes even more irritated. In individual cases, several drugs may be prescribed that act on the same area of tissue. In this case, there should be an interval between medications.

Malavit, use during pregnancy

When carrying a child and breastfeeding, sources of viral and bacterial infection should be avoided as much as possible. But still, if infection occurs, drugs are selected that contain a minimum of chemicals. From this it turns out that Malavit can be used during pregnancy, since it consists exclusively of natural ingredients in a minimal dosage that do not have a toxic effect on the fetus.

The solution cannot be called absolutely safe, since no tests are carried out on pregnant women, so before starting use you should consult your doctor.

    I have been familiar with products based on the Malavit complex for a very long time. It has wide indications for use. I also rinsed my throat and mouth with a diluted solution of malavit. Slightly astringent taste, but not unpleasant. How to dilute is indicated in the instructions. A good remedy.

    But Malavit did not help me with advanced tonsillitis. Although I started using it even when the drug was just invented. The inventor himself handed me a bottle of Malavit and promised that I would forget about my throat problems. The taste of the product is metallic, but tolerable. I just think that with such advanced sore throats you won’t get rid of it with antiseptics alone, you need to deeply rinse the tonsils and poison the staphylococcus with antibiotics. I wonder if Malavit helps with the first symptoms of acute tonsillitis? In theory, it should.

    Answer

Contraindications and side effects

As for contraindications and side effects, Malavit is safe in this regard. It does not contain chemicals, only natural and in very small dosages. Agents used locally practically do not enter the bloodstream; this is also very important for the occurrence of unexpected reactions.

The main contraindication to the use of Malavit for the throat is a severe allergic history. This group of patients may develop a reaction that will manifest itself with the following symptoms:

  • skin itching;
  • hives;
  • lacrimation;
  • rhinitis;
  • in very severe cases, Quincke's edema, anaphylactic shock.

To prevent this from happening, treatment is carried out under the strict supervision of a doctor.

Reception features

Malavit is a naturopathic drug and is not a drug. It is used only externally in complex therapy of various gynecological diseases, ENT organs, musculoskeletal system, and skin.

Malavit cannot be used as the main treatment, only as an addition to etiotropic therapy. The drug contains small doses of active ingredients; it will not be able to rid the body of infection.

Only a doctor should prescribe therapy to eliminate diseases; self-medication or non-compliance with the doctor’s recommendations leads to chronicity of the process or causes life-threatening complications.
