Indications

Indications for taking this drug in both forms are the following conditions:

  • Dyspeptic symptoms (belching, heartburn), which are typical when consuming large amounts of coffee, nicotine, alcohol or food;
  • Pain in the abdomen;
  • Any form of ulcer at the acute stage;
  • Gastric hernia;
  • Reflux esophagitis.

Additionally:

  • Tablets are prescribed for the treatment and prevention of conditions caused by long-term use of NSAIDs and glucocorticosteroids;
  • The suspension is prescribed for any form of gastritis, as well as duodenitis.

Mode of application

The drug is intended for oral administration.

For patients whose age has passed the mark of 15 years, Relcer is prescribed in a dosage of 2 tablets, which corresponds to 5-10 ml of suspension.

The medicine should be taken 3-4 times a day after each meal . When taking the product in the form of a suspension, you must ensure that the dosage does not exceed the maximum allowable amount of 40 ml.

Adolescents aged 10-15 years are prescribed this drug in a dosage of 1 tablet or 2.5-5 ml of suspension (half the adult dose). The maximum permitted dosage is no more than 20 ml per day.

The break between taking Relzer and other medications is at least 2 hours. Treatment lasts two weeks, however, if required, the doctor can extend therapy for another 2 weeks by increasing the dosage.

The tablets must be chewed with a sufficient amount of water. The suspension should be taken by first shaking the bottle.

The composition of 1 tablet of the drug Relzer includes such active elements as licorice root powder, simethicone, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide (dry).

The suspension contains such active substances as aluminum hydroxide (gel), licorice root powder, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone. In addition, the composition contains sorbitol, water, sodium saccharinate, mint oil, sodium hypochlorite, methylparaben, bronopol, sodium benzoate, propylparaben, and banana fragrance.

Combination with medications

Relzer, when taken together with certain drugs, absorbs medications, reducing their absorption. That is why you cannot simultaneously take Relcer with drugs such as Indomethacin, Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Azithromycin, Chlorpromazine, Digoxin, Phenytoin, Diflunisal, Pivampicillin, Dipyridamole, Cefpodoxime, Zalcitabine, Fexofenadine, Penicillamine, Ketoconazole, Lansoprazole, Quinidine, and Mesquiletine.

Relzer can reduce the acidity of the juice in the stomach, so when taken simultaneously with tablets that are coated with an enteric coating, premature destruction of this coating may occur. If this happens, the gastric mucosa will be injured.

Directions for use and doses

For adults and adolescents over 15 years of age, the drug is prescribed 1-2 tablets. or 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) 3-4 times/day. The maximum daily dose is 40 ml (8 teaspoons).

For children aged 10 to 15 years, the dose is 1/2 the recommended adult dose.

The duration of therapy is 14 days. The question of longer-term use is decided by the doctor individually.

The drug is taken daily after meals and in the evening before bed or if discomfort, epigastric pain, or heartburn occurs.

Before administration, the suspension should be homogenized by shaking the bottle.

Side effects

Side effects of the drug Relcer may include conditions such as:

  • Hypocalcemia, hypermagnesemia, hypophosphatemia, hypercalciuria, hyperaluminemia;
  • Changes in taste, constipation, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting;
  • Osteomalacia, as well as osteoporosis;
  • Itching, rash or other manifestations of allergies;
  • Nephrocalcinosis, nephritis;
  • Decreased blood pressure, hyporeflexia, and constant thirst.

An overdose is indicated by:

  • Drowsiness, agitation, and depression (may be severe);

Contraindications
