Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Pharmacodynamics

What is Rutacid for? The drug provides long-term neutralization of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, maintaining a pH close to normal levels. Reduces the activity of pepsin, has a gastroprotective effect and binds bile acids. Improves the healing of erosions and ulcers of the mucous membrane.

Hydrotalcite , the active ingredient of Rutacid, has a low aluminum and magnesium and a high buffer capacity.

Pharmacokinetics

In recommended doses, it is practically not absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract. The release of aluminum and magnesium ions occurs gradually, so the risk of their absorption and systemic effects is low. Hydrotalcite is not metabolized. After ingestion, aluminum ions are converted to aluminum chloride, which is absorbed in small quantities and then excreted in the urine. Penetration into bone and nerve tissue does not occur.

The unabsorbed portion of hydrotalcide in the intestine is converted into insoluble phosphates and carbonates and excreted in the feces.
There are no changes in blood concentrations of calcium, phosphorus, aluminum and magnesium. With normal kidney function, aluminum does not accumulate.

Pharmacotherapeutic group

Antacid. Combinations and complexes of aluminum, calcium and magnesium. ATX code A02A D04.

Pharmacological power.

Pharmacodynamics.

Hydrotalcite is a crystalline hydrate of aluminum magnesium hydroxycarbonate, which is added to non-systemic antacids. In addition to neutralizing the acid of the shrub juice, hydrotalcite enhances drying mechanisms and protects the mucous membrane from aggressive factors. At the same time, the veins are filled with inflammation of the mucous membranes of the pouch and duodenum. The neutralizing effect of hydrotalcite is based on its specific spatial structure. Hydrotalcite quickly neutralizes excess acid in the drill juice and has a lasting effect. They form magnesium and aluminum ions from the crystalline structure step by step, slowly adding some acid into the sump, and adjust the acidity at an equal level between pH 3 and 5 without excessive abuse of the slug. Pharmacokinetics.

Absorption

Absorption studies in animals and in human subjects have demonstrated that hydrotalcite, when taken at recommended doses, may not be absorbed in the coli-intestinal tract.

Metabolism

Hydrotalcite is not metabolized.

Vivedennya

Hydrotalcite is excreted in feces. After the reaction with the acid of the shunt juice, the aluminum ions are converted into aluminum chloride, which is absorbed in small amounts and is excreted. The unabsorbed part in the intestine is converted into non-alcoholic phosphates, carbonates and mild and excreted in feces. Studies of volunteers showed no changes in the concentrations of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and aluminum in serum after administration of hydrotalcite. During normal operation, the introduction of hydrotalcite should not lead to a decrease in the concentration of minerals in the serum until aluminum accumulates.

Be careful when administering large doses of antacid to patients with impaired function through a complex of aluminum excretion.

Rutacid 500 mg chewable tablets 20 pcs."Rutacid" is contraindicated for use by people with high sensitivity to the active substance hydrotalcite or any component of the drug. under six years of age should not take this medicine

suffering from renal failure should not take Rutacid . Patients suffering from diabetes should consult a specialist, since the drug contains sodium saccharin.

Pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy and lactation, no undesirable effects of Rutacid were identified . The use of the drug is permitted if the benefit to the mother is greater than the possible risk to the child.

The use of Rutacid during breastfeeding is not prohibited, since the drug does not pass into breast milk.

Reviews of Rutacid

Rutacid neutralizes hydrochloric acid and has an astringent and adsorbing effect. Many patients take this drug “on demand” for heartburn, “sour” belching and as a treatment for uncomplicated ulcer .

Some patients were prescribed this drug for pancreatitis in order to reduce the stimulating effect of hydrochloric acid on the pancreas. In this case, it is taken for 3-4 weeks.

Reviews about Rutacid boil down to the fact that it quickly eliminates pain and heartburn. Everyone notes its long-term effect (2.5 hours), in contrast to the absorbable antacids Almagel , Foasfalugel .

After withdrawal, there is no rebound syndrome (increased acidity).

“Eliminates heartburn instantly! Tastes like medicine"

“Quick help for heartburn! Economical, and did not cause any side effects for me"

The drug is well tolerated and causes virtually no adverse reactions. Website visitors in reviews note the occurrence of constipation.

Features of good stagnation

Avoidance of high doses and prolonged exposure to patients with impaired function of niro (sedation for patients undergoing hemodialysis sessions), patients with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia and patients agents from hypophosphatemia, and when children are treated with low phosphate intake.

Hydrotalcite should not be taken immediately with the skin, but rather remove acid (for example, wine, fruit juices) through the intestinal moistening of aluminum hydroxide.

This drug does not interfere with the sugar, so it can be used in patients with diabetes.

It is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age, as the safety and effectiveness of the drug for this category of patients has not been established.

Suspension during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Administration of the drug Rutacid during pregnancy or breastfeeding is possible for a short period of time, because, in the opinion of the doctor, the positive effect for the mother outweighs the potential risk for the fetus and child. Some pharmacokinetic studies have demonstrated that the amount of aluminum in the blood falls within the normal range, and hydrotalcite only solidifies over a short period of time during pregnancy. izatsiya potential influx of aluminum onto the plate.

Call, say, that the aluminum penetrates into breast milk. There is no current evidence about the penetration of hydrotalcite into breast milk, but due to low intestinal moisturization in the mother and child, there are no significant health risks to the newborn.

This is due to the fluidity of the reaction during treatment with vehicles or other mechanisms.

There was no need to avoid a heavy influx of water into the construction of the car and other mechanical means.

The effect of Rutacid on the body

The stomach and intestines are most often affected by poor nutrition. After birth, the child gets used to processing more and more new types of food over the course of several years, from mother’s milk to exotic products. Enzyme proteins secreted by the digestive glands gradually adapt to this. An important role is played by hydrochloric acid, produced by special cells of the gastric mucosa. Only the synchronized operation of this extensive chemical conveyor can provide the body with nutrition and building materials.

The gastrointestinal tract is the main supplier of nutrients and building materials

The acidity of gastric juice is not a constant value. It changes depending on the needs of the body. Under normal conditions, the gastric mucosa is reliably protected from digesting itself. Various pathological conditions can disrupt this delicate balance. High acidity is dangerous due to the occurrence of ulcers and erosions. The active components of the drug Rutacid can normalize the situation. The therapeutic effect is based on a typical chemical reaction between acid and alkali with the formation of harmless salt and water. The first ingredient is hydrochloric acid of gastric juice. The second reagent is the active substance of the drug hydrotalcite. This voluminous cellular structure contains aluminum and magnesium. They are the ones who interact with hydrochloric acid. The result is the formation of chemical compounds with protective enveloping properties.
