pharmachologic effect
Hematopoiesis stimulator . Iron occupies the central part of the hemoglobin and is responsible for stimulating hematopoiesis. Elimination of hematopoiesis disorders is carried out by replenishing the lack of iron in the body due to the active substance of the drug.
Ascorbic acid allows you to increase the digestibility of Fe sulfate up to 4 times during the digestion process. Mucoproteosis improves the tolerability of the active component.
Pharmacological properties
Tardiferon is a hematopoiesis stimulator. Iron atoms are located in the central part of the hemoglobin molecule and are responsible for stimulating hematopoiesis. Hematopoiesis disorders are eliminated by replenishing iron reserves in the body due to the intake of ferrous sulfate, which is the active component of the drug.
Ascorbic acid, also part of Tardiferon, increases the digestibility of ferrous sulfate by approximately 4 times during its absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. Mucoproteosis improves the tolerability of the active substance of the drug.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Tardiferon tablets are characterized by a prolonged effect. Mucoproteosis increases the bioavailability of ferrous ions, which ensures its gradual release in the small intestine. The maximum concentration of iron is found in the blood plasma approximately 7 hours after oral administration. The level of this substance is maintained at a consistently high level for 24 hours. Bioavailability is 5–35%.
The rate and degree of absorption of ferrous sulfate is directly determined by the presence of the body's own iron reserves. Excess iron accumulates in tissues in the form of ferritin, and is also excreted through the kidneys, intestines and during sweating.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Tablets of this drug have a prolonged effect. Mucoproteosis increases the bioavailability of ferrous ions and its gradual release in the small intestine. The maximum concentration after consumption of Fe 2+ is recorded in plasma after 7 hours. The iron content in the blood is maintained at a constantly high level for a long time (within 24 hours). Bioavailability ranges from 5% to 35%.
The absorption of the active substance directly depends on the own iron reserves of each individual organism. Iron is stored in the form of ferritin. Excretion occurs in urine, sweat and feces.

Treatment of iron deficiency anemia: children - 1 tablet per day (morning), adults - 1-2 tablets per day (morning and evening). The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the anemia. To replenish the iron depot in the body, treatment with Tardiferon should be continued for another 1–3 months after normalization of hemoglobin levels in the blood - 1 tablet per day (in the morning).
Reviews about Tardiferon
An analysis of medical communities and forums showed that the drug is considered effective, restoring hemoglobin levels to normal after the first course of use. Reviews of Tardiferon on forums do not report any side effects. Even with alarmingly low hemoglobin levels before starting the drug, significant improvements were noticed by all community participants.
Many women leave reviews during pregnancy, since low hemoglobin is practically the most common problem among women during pregnancy. Many reports indicate that if anemia occurs, then a special diet is practically useless without taking special iron supplements. Tardiferon was well tolerated by all forum participants who signed up.

Pharmacological properties of the drug Tardiferon
Tardiferon is a complex long-acting drug. Contains ferrous sulfate, the use of which replenishes iron deficiency in the body and stimulates hematopoiesis. The high safety of the drug is due to the presence of mucoproteose in its composition. Mucoproteosis is a natural mucopolysaccharide that protects the mucous membrane of the digestive tract from the irritating (irritating) effects of iron ions, promotes the slow release of iron (within 5-6 hours), which significantly improves the tolerability of the drug. Ascorbic acid, having an antioxidant effect, increases the bioavailability of iron and promotes its absorption. Absorbed in the duodenum and proximal small intestine. The maximum concentration of iron in the blood serum is reached after approximately 7 hours and remains elevated for 24 hours after taking the drug.
Interaction with other drugs
Reduce iron absorption:
- antacid drugs containing salts AL3+, Ca 2+, Md 2+, calcium preparations, etidronic acid, drugs that reduce the acidity of gastric juice (including cimetidine);
- medicines containing carbonates, bicarbonates, phosphates, oxalates);
- pancreatin, pancreolipase.
Mutually reduce absorption when used together:
- tetracyclines, D-penicillamine, tea, egg yolk.
If it is necessary to combine it with the drugs or foods listed above, iron supplements should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after their use.
Increases absorption:
- ascorbic acid, ethanol (including increases the risk of toxic complications).
Iron supplementation in large doses reduces the absorption of zinc.
It should not be prescribed together with other iron preparations, including those for parenteral use, to avoid overdose.
