What diseases do Dazolic tablets fight, and how to take them correctly?

If you need to get rid of parasites in an adult or child, doctors suggest the antiprotozoal drug Ornidazole Dazolic with antibacterial properties. It is highly effective in the fight against protozoa and parasites that cause infectious diseases. The medicine is fast-acting due to the achievement of maximum concentration in the blood plasma within the first hour after administration.

The drug "Ornidazole Dazolic" is used to treat parasites and bacteria in humans.

Dazolic release form

According to the instructions, Dazolic is produced in the form of white or almost white round biconvex tablets, film-coated, 10 pieces each. in cellless contour packages in cardboard boxes.

One Dazolic tablet contains 500 mg of ornidazole, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium starch glycolate type A, purified talc, starch, magnesium stearate, povidone and colloidal silicon dioxide.

The film shell contains acetone, titanium dioxide, isopropyl alcohol, Eudragit E-100, polyethylene glycol 6000 and purified water.

general information

"Ornidazole Dazolic" is included in the category of antiprotozoal drugs with antibacterial function. Effective against anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. It affects parasites that cause infectious diseases such as:

  • purulent inflammation (causative agent - fusobacteria, bacteroides);
  • giardiasis (giardia);
  • trichomoniasis (Trichomonas);
  • inflammation in the mouth, colon, upper parts of the respiratory system, vagina (anaerobic cocci);
  • clostridiosis (clostridia).

The active formula destroys the structure of the DNA chain, which leads to the death of the parasite. The main component of Ornidazole Dazolica comes from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood and accumulates an hour after administration due to its high bioavailability (90%). The drug enters all tissues through the bloodstream. It is excreted in urine and feces after 12-14 hours.

"Ornidazole Dazolic" is an Indian antiprotozoal drug with antibacterial sensitivity, intended for the treatment of infants and adults from parasitic infestations.

The drug "Ornidazole Dazolic" is available in solid form - tablets, in a package of 10 pieces.

Composition, properties, forms

Dazolic is based on ornidazole with a total concentration of 500 mg. The medicine is produced in the form of round, white tablets with a stripe on one side. The drug is packaged in blister packs of 10 pieces. There can be 1 or 5 such blisters in one package. The main task of Dazolic is the inhibition of protozoa and anaerobic microorganisms by destroying their DNA.

How does it work?

Like many other drugs intended to combat pathogenic microflora, Dazolik belongs to the group of antibiotics (antiprotozoal). In the human body, its active substance - ornidazole - is absorbed into the blood and begins to have a detrimental effect on protozoan parasites. Microorganisms die when treated with Ornidazole Dazolic due to disruption of their DNA structure. The destruction of pathogenic microflora when taking this drug is facilitated by the fact that it inhibits the synthesis of bacterial nucleic membranes.

One of the features of the medicine is its high antibacterial effect. Therefore, “Dazolik” not only cures various kinds of parasitic diseases, but also improves human immunity.

How to use Dazolic

According to the instructions, Dazolic is taken orally after meals. The dosage of the drug depends on the disease and the age of the patient, namely:

  • Trichomoniasis - Dazolic tablets are taken 500 mg twice a day for a course of at least 5 days. For children, treatment with the drug lasts no more than five days. The dose is calculated based on the ratio: 25 mg of Dazolic per kg of child’s weight;
  • Intestinal amebiasis – 1.5 g of the drug once a day (adults and children whose body weight exceeds 35 kg), 2 g once a day (with a body weight exceeding 60 kg), 40 mg per kg per day (children with weighing less than 35 kg);
  • Extraintestinal amebiasis - 0.5 g in the morning and evening for 5-10 days (adults and children over 12 years of age). A single dose for children under 1 year of age is 0.125 g, 1-6 years - 0.25 g, 7-12 years - 0.375 g;
  • Giardiasis - 1.5 g per day (adults and children whose body weight exceeds 35 kg) and 40 mg per kg of body weight per day (children weighing less than 35 kg).

When preventing infections caused by drug-sensitive anaerobic bacteria, Dazolic tablets are taken 0.5-1 g per day before surgery and 0.5-2 g per day after surgery for three to five days.

Indications for use

The drug is prescribed for:

  • giardiasis;
  • trichomoniasis;
  • amebiasis;
  • to prevent infections that can be caused by anaerobic bacteria, it is often prescribed for sanitation before operations of the pelvic and colon organs.

Only a doctor can prescribe the drug. He will select the appropriate dosage, taking into account the patient’s characteristics and the presence of contraindications.

Side effects of Dazolic

According to reviews, Dazolic can cause side effects from many body systems, namely:

  • Drowsiness, tremors, headache, incoordination, dizziness, muscle rigidity, temporary loss of consciousness, convulsions, distortion of taste, fatigue and sensory or mixed peripheral neuropathy (central nervous system and peripheral nervous system);
  • Nausea and increased activity of liver enzymes (digestive system).

Also, according to reviews, Dazolic in case of overdose can cause allergic reactions, depression and neuritis of peripheral nerves.

Reviews

The effectiveness of Dazolic is confirmed by numerous positive reviews. Patients note the rapid action of the medication and the ability to eliminate pathogenic bacteria as much as possible. Normalization of the condition is revealed during re-examination after a course of therapy.

Some patients report symptoms of drowsiness when taking the pills, but this effect is not considered a side effect. If you have had experience using Dazolic, please share the information with site visitors.

Overdose

Patients, of course, should not take too much Ornidazole Dazolic, like any other medicine. An overdose can lead, for example, to nephritis of the peripheral nerves. If a patient drinks too much of this medicine, he will most likely experience the following symptoms:

  • depression;
  • convulsions;
  • gastrointestinal disorder.

Treatment of an overdose of Dazolic is symptomatic. For seizures, the patient, among other things, may be prescribed the drug "Diazepam".

Are there any contraindications?

According to the instructions for Ornidazole Dazolic, this medicine cannot be used to treat infections or prevent people with liver problems. Also, the drug is not prescribed for:

pharmachologic effect

Antiprotozoal drug, a derivative of 5-nitroimidazole. The mechanism of action is the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of ornidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of ornidazole interacts with DNA in microbial cells, inhibiting the synthesis of their nucleic acids, which leads to the death of bacteria.

Active against Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, as well as against anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides spp. /including Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides distasonis, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, Bacteroides vulgatus/, Fusobacterium spp., Clostridium spp .). Aerobic microorganisms are not sensitive to ornidazole.

Pharmacokinetics

Suction and distribution

Absorption from the gastrointestinal tract is high. Bioavailability - 90%. Time to reach Cmax is 1-2 hours.

Communication with plasma proteins is less than 15%. Penetrates into most tissues, passes through the blood-brain barrier and the placental barrier. Excreted in breast milk.

Metabolism and excretion

Metabolized in the liver by hydroxylation, oxidation and glucuronidation. T1/2 - 12-14 hours. Excreted in the form of metabolites by the kidneys (60-70%) and with feces (20-25%), about 5% of the dose is excreted unchanged.
