pharmachologic effect

Immunostimulating drug of bacterial origin. Increases humoral and cellular immunity. Stimulates peritoneal macrophages, increases the number of T-lymphocytes and increases the formation of immunoglobulins A, G, M, secreted by the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract. The immunostimulating effect of the bacterial lysate is due to its effect on Peyer's patches in the gastrointestinal mucosa.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics

Broncho-Vaxom is an immunostimulating agent of bacterial origin that causes an immune response in the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. The most pronounced effect is observed in Peyer's patches (PB) of the small intestine, which is manifested in the activation of antigen-presenting cells (APC) and further stimulation of cells responsible for specific immunity.

During the period of use of the drug, an increase in the level of circulating B-lymphocytes is observed. After stimulation of the latter, there is an increase in the production of polyclonal antibodies, mainly IgG (immunoglobulin G) serum and IgA (immunoglobulin A), secreted by saliva and the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract. These antibodies are the first line of defense against a number of pathogenic viruses and bacteria.

Due to the powerful stimulating effect of the drug on most types of leukocytes, the number of lymphoid and myeloid cells increases, and there is also a selective increase in the expression of receptors on their surface.

All these data together confirm that the drug helps strengthen the body's immune defense against infections.

Clinically, Broncho-Vaxom reduces the incidence and duration of acute respiratory infections and reduces the risk of exacerbation of chronic bronchitis. This entails a reduced need for the use of other drugs, especially antibiotics.
