Troxerutin is a drug from the group of angioprotectors and has pronounced venotonic, capillary protective, membrane stabilizing and anti-inflammatory activity. Belongs to the pharmacological group of drugs that have an antispasmodic effect, helping to relax the smooth muscles of blood vessels and other internal organs.
The active substance Troxerutin is a derivative of rutin; in its normal state it is a yellow powdery substance, easily soluble in water, propylene glycol, and glycerin.
The drug is available in the form of Troxerutin gel for external application and Troxerutin capsules for oral administration. The combination of medicinal forms significantly enhances the effectiveness of the drug and the therapeutic effect in the treatment of certain diseases.
The action of the drug is based on blocking the venodilating effect of bradykinin and histamine (inflammatory mediators). Stabilizes hyaluronic acid in cell membranes, counteracting hyaluronidase.
