What product do you use in your practice?

In my practice, I use only drugs certified and registered in the Russian Federation. One of them is Acriol Pro.

Several years ago, the AstraZeneca company, in order to protect doctors from using uncertified products with a list of administrative responsibilities for such use, visited more than one clinic and came to us. We met many employees, and a few months later a delegation came to the clinic with an interview about the frequency of using topical anesthesia; they asked what we were happy with and what we were dissatisfied with when using EMLA, because we had no other anesthetics at that time.

Have there been any complications?

Of the complications in my practice, there were only isolated cases of allergic reactions in the form of contact dermatitis, which was associated with individual intolerance to the components of the drug, which the patient was not previously aware of. To mitigate adverse events, it is important to carefully collect an allergic history. Allergic reactions are possible due to the content of ether anesthetics and preservatives; in their absence, the risk of developing allergic reactions is significantly reduced.

Cases of complications occurred in the form of contact dermatitis, severe itching in the area of ​​application.

In my practice, there have been several cases of allergic reactions and contact dermatitis, but such complications are rare.

There may be moments in patients with a burdened medical history. I encountered contact dermatitis, but did not refuse local anesthesia. In such patients, I apply the cream not under occlusion, as recommended by the manufacturer, and for a short period of time, and this saves.

Very rarely, the drug can cause reactions in the form of redness or peeling of the skin.

What is indicated by dull, pulling, aching or sharp pain?
