Pharmacological action of Zorex

Unithiol (sodium dimercaptopropanesulfonate) is the active ingredient of the drug Zorex, has a detoxification, hepatoprotective and antioxidant effect. When interacting with ethanol half-life products and thiol poisons, the sulfhydryl active groups of unithiol form non-toxic complexes, which are excreted in the urine over time.

Calcium pantothenate, which is part of Zorex, enhances the detoxification effect of sodium dimercaptopropanesulfonate.

Once in the body, unithiol penetrates along with the portal bloodstream into the liver, where it quickly binds to acetaldehyde, thereby ensuring the removal of ethyl from other tissues and organs. Also, when studying the effect of the drug on the body, it was confirmed that Zorex activates alcohol dehydrogenase.

Zorex Morning tablets contain acetylsalicylic acid, which inhibits platelet aggregation, has antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, inhibiting the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, and disrupts the synthesis of prostaglandins.

How to treat an allergic reaction

Read interesting and funny articles on our blog! * How the sommelier specialization was formed.

* Gatherings in the barn. Story.

* Rules for choosing low-calorie wine.

  1. Antihistamines (antiallergic) agents: tavegil, ketotifen, suprastin, Erius, Zyrtec or analogues.
  2. In case of severe swelling or an acute and violent allergy attack, call an ambulance. The doctor will give an injection of a hormonal drug: prednisolone, dexamethasone or diprospan.
  3. For stomatitis, rinse your mouth with a decoction of medicinal herbs (chamomile, oak bark). Lubricate ulcers in the mouth and lips with Kamistad, Cholisal, sea buckthorn oil, tetracycline ointment, potassium permanganate solution, chlorhexidine solution or 1% aqueous solution of methylene blue.
  4. For skin lesions, apply ointment with zinc (for example, zindol, zinocap) to the damaged areas. Hormonal ointments help well: Akriderm, Triderm, Advantan.
  5. Take sorbents: activated carbon, smecta, enterosgel or others.
  6. Follow a general nonspecific hypoallergenic diet. It excludes citrus fruits, mushrooms, smoked foods, honey and many other foods that provoke exacerbation of the reaction. Alcohol is also excluded.

thanks for the info about Diprospan, on the third day I ran to the pharmacy (one capsule is enough). I took the injection and finally slept at night. Don’t expect a miracle right away, but it will be much easier. Reader of the website Pokhover.rf

Ketotifen is one of the antiallergic drugs.

Be sure to tell your doctor if you suspect an allergy to Zorex, as it can be difficult to diagnose. The doctor sees the result: stomatitis, toxicodermatitis, urticaria, exudative erythema multiforme, in especially severe cases - Stephen-Jones syndrome, Quincke's edema. But he doesn't know the reason. And the patient usually has no idea to suspect an anti-hangover drug in his troubles, because usually their composition is quite harmless: aspirin, soda, citric acid, succinic acid, and so on.

It seems to a person that most likely he was poisoned by low-quality alcohol or stale snacks - after all, he just drank the day before. Swollen eyes can easily be attributed to a hangover or a raised stye; if your lips are swollen, it probably means herpes. A doctor who has not previously encountered symptoms of an allergy to Zorex will also not be able to guess the cause: after all, an allergic reaction can be to anything. And if there are only one or two symptoms present, then determining what needs to be treated will be even more difficult.

Our readers never left the doctors with any diagnosis until they remembered that they had taken Zorex. One man suspected a sexually transmitted disease and blamed his wife for cheating for a long time until he got to the bottom of the reason.

But even after the correct diagnosis is made, medications will not help immediately. Be patient, the acute reaction will pass, but your appearance may suffer for a long time: sometimes spots on the skin last longer than a year. Those who are allergic to Zorex say that tanning helps hide spots. You can also visit a cosmetic surgeon.

If an allergic reaction occurs after drinking, and what exactly is unknown, then use the advice from our short instructions:

Does the instructions say about the dangers of allergies?

Yes. This is what is stated in the instructions for Zorex, in the “Side Effects” section:

“Rarely: allergic reactions (skin itching, urticaria, rash on the skin and mucous membranes, genital itching, stomatitis).

Very rare: the appearance of an allergic reaction such as angioedema or Steven-Johnson syndrome (sudden increase in body temperature, malaise, maculo-vesicular or bullous rashes on the skin, mucous membranes of the oral cavity, genitals, in the anus). In this case, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

The risk of developing allergic reactions is higher in people with bronchial asthma or a history of allergies.”

As we see, manufacturers warned about the possibility of side effects. Steven-Johnson syndrome means nothing to most of us, but it is the allergic reaction you see in photographs.

The instructions for medications include the following designations for the frequency of side effects:

  • Rare - less than one case per thousand patients.
  • Very rare - less than one case per ten thousand patients.

The editors of our site have no way to check whether such reactions really occur very rarely, because people who avoided the consequences write about it in the comments much less often.

Our readers claim that an allergy to Zorex can occur even in those who have never had an allergy to anything before. We also cannot confirm or deny these claims.

Our readers often tell this story about their relationship with Zorex. For the first time, it can help with a hangover without any complaints, and the delighted experimenter enthusiastically recommends this drug to his friends. The second time, after a completely different drinking session, a weak reaction to Zorex occurs, which can be easily tolerated: for example, the lips swell a little - but otherwise everything goes well. And then, after the third dose of the drug, suddenly such a strong and violent reaction occurs that the person curses the day when he first decided to try this remedy.
