Simethicone is a chemically inert substance with surface activity and antifoaming effect. In the intestinal lumen it acts as an antifoam: it reduces the tension of gas bubbles. The released gases are absorbed by the intestinal walls, and some are excreted naturally due to intestinal peristalsis. Simethicone acts on the surface of gas bubbles without affecting the mucous membrane and without being absorbed. By removing bubbles, digestion and absorption of nutrients are normalized. Use before ultrasound and x-ray examinations prevents the occurrence of artifacts that cause gas bubbles. Does not contain sugar, so it can be used for diabetes .

Espumisan is sold without a doctor's prescription. However, before giving it to a newborn baby, you should consult a specialist . You should not give medicine to your baby without reason or in large quantities. "Espumizan Baby" is indicated for adults and children in a number of cases listed below:

• The newborn is capricious and cries when the tummy is touched.
• A child or adult exhibits signs of gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract.

For children under six years of age, only Espumisan Baby is suitable, and Espumisan El can be given to older children.

Both drugs are suitable for use during pregnancy and lactation. Side effects of the drug may occur in people with hypersensitivity to its components. In this case, an allergy is possible. If any allergic reaction occurs, you should immediately consult a doctor. Medical diagnosis is also necessary if the baby’s colic does not go away within 3-4 days.

An overdose of Espumisan is impossible, since the simethicone contained in it is chemically inert.

Indications for use

• treatment of flatulence of any origin (including in the postoperative period);
• functional dyspepsia ;
• aerophagia;
• intoxication with surfactants (as an antifoam).

Indications for use also include the use of the drug in preparation for diagnostic studies (ultrasound, X-ray examination of the gastrointestinal tract, gastroscopy).

Espumisan tablets, instructions for use (Method and dosage)

How to take Espumisan? To eliminate flatulence, adults and children over 6 years old - 2 capsules 3-5 times a day after meals with a small amount of liquid. To prepare for diagnostic tests - 2 capsules three times the day before the test and 2 capsules on the day of the test, without drinking water. In case of poisoning with detergents with foaming agents - 10-20 capsules in one dose for adults, children over 6 years old - 3-10 capsules. The instructions for use of Espumisan contain information that the drug can be taken for a long time, since it is chemically inert and does not cause adverse reactions.

For adults, tablets are a more acceptable form of release because they are convenient to take at work or in public places. It is more difficult to give tablets or capsules to children, not to mention the fact that this is generally impossible for newborns. There is an emulsion for them. Children are given Espumisan 40 - an emulsion in 100 ml bottles with a measuring spoon or Espumisan L in bottles with a dropper. Infants - 25 drops added to a bottle or given from a spoon after breastfeeding three times a day. Children from 1 to 6 years old - 25 drops 3-5 times a day, older children - 30-50 drops 3-5 times. Shake the bottle before use.

Release form and composition

The dosage form of Espumisan L is an emulsion for oral administration: white, with the smell of banana (in dark glass bottles of 30 ml with a dropper dispenser and a measuring cap included, 1 set in a cardboard box).

Babycalm is a dietary supplement consisting of essential oils: anise, dill, mint. Designed for children from the first days of life. The emulsion should be prepared by yourself by adding boiled water to 15 ml of a mixture of essential oils up to the mark indicated on the bottle, and store it in the refrigerator.
