  • inhibits histamine H1 receptors , has a relaxing effect on bronchial smooth muscles;
  • has an anti-inflammatory effect, leading to a decrease in the synthesis of a number of anti-inflammatory factors ( TNF-a, cytokines , free radicals, arachidonic acid metabolites, leukotrienes, thromboxane, prostaglandins ), producing a bronchoconstrictor effect;
  • suppresses a1-adrenergic receptors , which stimulate the production of viscous mucus in the bronchi.
