Pharmacological group

The main active ingredient of the drug L-threonine in the presence of vitamin B6 is converted into the amino acid glycine and acetaldehyde. The compounds enhance the course of inhibition processes and at the same time improve redox reactions, intracellular respiration and the synthesis of high-energy compounds (ATP). Due to this, several effects are realized:

  • Improving short-term and long-term memory.
  • Normalization of the level of endogenous (own) acetaldehyde, thereby easing the state of withdrawal.
  • Reducing psycho-emotional stress.
  • Improved mental performance.

The drug has anti-alcohol, anti-withdrawal, neuroprotective and metabolic effects, which develop within 10-20 minutes after sublingual administration of the tablet. The active substances are quickly absorbed from the oral mucosa into the systemic bloodstream, penetrate into the structures of the central nervous system, where they are included in metabolism and have therapeutic effects.

Instructions for medical use of the drug

Description of pharmacological action

Affects tissue metabolism, increases mental performance, and has a therapeutic effect in alcohol withdrawal syndrome. L-threonine, in the presence of vitamin B6, breaks down into the amino acid glycine and acetaldehyde, which stimulate inhibition processes and redox reactions, respiration processes and ATP synthesis in cells, thereby achieving: reducing psycho-emotional stress, improving short-term and long-term memory, mood and concentration attention, normalization of the content of endogenous acetaldehyde (due to which the phenomena of alcohol withdrawal syndrome and craving for alcohol are reduced). The effect of Biotredin appears 10–20 minutes after sublingual administration.

Indications for use

- decreased mental performance and concentration in adults, adolescents and children; — alcohol abuse and chronic alcoholism; with pathological craving for alcohol, accompanied by affective (irritability, decreased mood, internal discomfort), sensory (feelings of hunger) and ideational (thoughts about alcohol) disturbances; - alcohol withdrawal syndrome, to maintain remissions in alcoholism.

It is possible to crush the tablet into powder, which is then placed under the tongue. In this case, faster dissolution and absorption of the active components into the systemic circulation occurs.
